Try asking Ilford. Billy Axeman has tried without success. I tried many months before Billy and did have success although my question was not yours but does follow on from it, namely what is the minimum quantity of stock Perceptol that is needed to properly develop a roll of film(135 or 120).

If Ilford get another question on this it might respond. If you do ask Ilford perhaps you might add my minimum quantity of stock question as well

Best of luck

4 35mm/120 films per litre or equal film area.
For film 2, add 10% to the developing time
For film 3, add 20%
For film 4, add 30%

That info on the box isnt worth shit, due to the fact that i have developed 6 rolls at same developing time who all look great, which is more than Ilford is saying.

Because of that i am asking for legit infos from users and not the manufacturer who will say its less in order for you to buy more.

Have you done the densitometry to see if the negs really are "great"? Ilford makes reconsiderations to cover all possibilities their products will be used under and give promised results. if you go beyond that, it's obviously at your own risk.

It might work if you are mainly shooting night scenes for example, but if you are attempting to obtain maximum density it probably won't. Nobody here can tell you what will work for your particular circumstances.

As Craig posted, capacity issues vary with circumstances.
A developer is much more likely to exhaust if your subjects are all snow scenes rather than in forest tableaus.
It may also vary with the type of film.
Harman/Ilford have the benefit of a lot more potential data than any single member here. Of course, Harman/Ilford will also suffer the consequences if they make a recommendation that turns out to be insufficient 5% of the time.
This reminds me of those people who argue that Kodak's recommendations for HC-110 (minimum 6 ml concentrate per roll) are too conservative.
Most likely anyone who approaches the capacity limitations for any developer will start to see compensating effects before they see failure, and compensating effects can result in flat, lifeless negatives, particularly in the critical mid-tones.

I dont have a densitometer to make this kind of judgement but i compared the scans from the previous two rolls i developed.

You will get a whole range of answers here from 250mls per roll is the minimum hence 4 rolls per litre of stock to just over 60mls of stock in a 250ml tank at 1+3 hence 16 rolls from someone owing a pentax :D He admits that Ilford suggested that the minimum should be 70mls so about 14 rolls. He may be deranged but he is sure he read his reply from Ilford correctly

Anyway the morale of the story is that the "legit infos" you want comes at its most legit from Ilford in my opinion.

Best of luck

I had received a reply from Odot today which has disappeared. My reply above was not the last post on this thread. I then replied to Odot this afternoon based on what appeared to be his unwarranted reply to me. I very quickly got an explanation from him via PM that something had gone wrong and his reply with my post which was quoted was not intended for me. He then did me the courtesy of a post to the same effect in this thread.

All of this seems to have now gone. I assume that a mod or mods have intervened and deleted all post since mine on Tuesday or is there a glitch in the system surrounding this thread?

If it isn't a glitch and is direct action by the mods that's fine but an explanation, I feel, is needed out of courtesy.
