Pentax 85mm lens (focusing)

Hi there,

A couple of weeks ago I bought a beautiful 85mm lens for my Pentax MX.
The focusing ring is a lot stiffer than my other lenses. Is this normal? Or should I get it serviced?

Mine focues without issues, if stiffer than say a 105 or 135 then I would get it serviced.

Older lenses frequently suffer from issues with helicoid grease - it's partly gone, gummed up or contaminated with dirt. Cleaning and relubricating the helicoid should solve this.
