Ondu Pinhole

Does anyone know anything about the makers of Ondu cameras? I ordered one several months ago (in early Feb) from their web site (a 6x12). I knew it would take awhile, but on April 1st, I received a note from them telling me they had charged my CC and were getting ready to ship my camera. Since then I have heard nothing and on Thursday and then again on Saturday I sent them notes asking for an update on when my camera would ship. Order status on their site shows paid and unfulfilled.

They were very quick in communicating when they were charging my CC but now they have gone silent. No response. I sent a note late today (Monday) that if I don't hear back soon, I will cancel my order and dispute the charge with Amex. Don't really want to do that, but how long does it take to send a quick note - even to tell me there is a delay? Anyone know what the deal is there? Thanks.

They've recently done a Kickstarter and are busy fulfilling that, and are missing deadlines as they go. I imagine that it's connected to the Kickstarter, causing delays, but as a Kickstarter backer, I'm not too pleased with them at the moment.

They've generally been a reputable company, but they are a small operation and probably a bit overwhelmed by the flood of orders to fulfill right now. That's not much of an excuse for non-responsiveness, but rather I'd expect your order will be filled eventually.

Thanks for the info - didn't realize they had another kickstarter so I guess I will give it some time, but it is interesting that they can't even set up an auto reply giving some status on orders.

Just a quick follow up. Finally received a very nice email from Elvis explaining in great detail some of the challenges they are having with finishing up and explaining what they are doing to address those challenges. He was very apologetic and went way beyond what he needed to do as far as his response. A class act.

Can't wait to get my Ondu 6x12 and for WWPD I will go with an M42 pinhole cap on my spotmatic.

Still haven't received my camera! . Maybe it will arrive by April 2017. :=) Must be in way over their heads. I guess film photographers are patient by nature.

I received my 6x6 and have shot my first roll of Fuji NPC160 (not developed yet). I like the camera a lot.
Well made and the magnets lock is perfect.

I also ordered the 135 Panoramic but that one hasn't arrived yet.
