I think I might have extra. Will check and PM you. There may be 2 6x9 sizes; one for roll film and one for sheet film.

I'd recommend using the glass 4x5" carrier for 6x9cm negatives.

It's the one carrier I don't really have. I have a Beseler carrier that's been hacked down to fit.

They're out there. I've got one (that I use).

If you want to try to find the glass Rapid Shift carrier by catalogue number, it's 423-324.

If you have to you can get a 35mm carrier and have it cut out to fit 6X9. Ken Ruth at Photography On Bald Mountain can do this. You could also get a more perfect fit based on the actual size you are getting from your 6X9 camera/back.

The catalogue number I mentioned above is for rollfilm. There is a separate one for sheet film.

If you cannot find one, you could send what you have to SKGrimes http://www.skgrimes.com/ and it'll cut it to the right size for you.

I had Grimes make me a panoramic 35mm carrier. It was nicely done.

They are little pricy but EBAY has some 6x9 listed at this very moment.

Just do "omega 6x9 carrier" and you'll find them.

There may be a third size. Omega made carriers for film pack film also. I once had all three for 4x5 negatives and I know that Kodak made 6x9 film packs. Of course at the time they called them 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 film packs.....Regards

In the 1980s, when I was a college student, my brother was in construction and had a bunch of extra shower board material. I took two pieces, and – using an Omega 6x6 carrier as a template – made my own 6x9 carrier.

I think that I used a table saw to get cut the larger pieces and then a combination of hack saw, coping saw and drill press to get everything right.

I finished with some careful sanding and lots of measuring. A lot of sanding to removing rough edges, especially around the negative frame.

The locating pins are aluminum pins with two washers. I couldn't tell you what they are. They were in my dad's workshop. I filed down and sanded the tops of the pins so they wouldn't extend beyond the top of the mask.

It works very well. I'm not sure why I didn't paint one of them black. Maybe I'll do that soon.

If you have a spare 35mm carrier, take it to a machinist with a 6x9 neg and they can help you out. Depending on your area, should be able to get shop rates from $40 - $100. I paid a premium for a 6x12 but shop rates are high due to the oil and gas industry.

Why do you even need one? Just use the ordinary glass 4x5 carrier and a cutout mask to block stray light. Otherwise, these kinds of things
are easy to make in the average shop.
