I'm also a train precision driver which is what I'm doing traveling to New York City for work on a movie set driving in a scene, although this is not a complete excuse, I just want to let you know that I am a much more capable driver than most people and not because I am delusional, but because I have been trained and tested and very practiced at it.

So, you precision drive trains? Or do you mean you're a trained precision driver? If it is the latter, do they train you to drive and text? Ha ha.

Today I was behind a woman who was texting in stop-and-go traffic. We weren't going over 5 mph, yet she was still a liability. Sure, no one would die, and it's doubtful anyone would even be injured, but the expensive rims on her SUV are lucky there were no curbs as she slowly drifted off the shoulder. I don't need to be in a minor fender-bender, nor do I have the time to waste filling out reports as a witness. She made me late enough by not keeping up with the traffic's turtle's pace.

Haha that's siri dictation not understanding my words properly haha

Trained as a precision driver.

And actually yes I've done movie scenes where they filmed me texting and driving on purpose

Guys, let's keep this thread clear for people trying to give things away. I don't like clicking on it, having to reduce the screen to scroll through 110 pages, and find just chit-chat. Thanks.

Good point, sorry...

So I have a roll of 616 Vericrhome film for anyone just pay shipping, it's nitrate film, I can give you my personal exposure times and such, it's from the mid 1940's I believe, but I have exposed a few rolls from this lot already.

Any takers?

HEY!!

i started this thread

should i put a limit on the stuff people should be able to get ?

NO!!!

this thread is just as it should be,
people giving stuff away for free, and as long as the recipient
isn't ummm reselling the stuff on ebay or in the apug classifieds
than i think if he or she wants to fill the spare bedroom with junque he or she
may never use except to get him or her on the next season of "hoarders" that is fine by me.

lets keep this thread to its original mission ... as stated here

this is a humble thread that is for all those kind people
who have (free) stuff ( film, cameras, darkroom stuff, you name it )
to give away.

HERE"S THE CATCH:

the giver-awayer sets the rules
how the item will be shipped ...

AND

the giver-awayer comes back to the
thread and quotes his / her own entry and
states " GIVEN AWAY "

Well admittedly I gave one away but then ended up turning it into a sale because the person wanted more than one and so I ended up charging for the second one.

To be clear that was not my intention when I posted, it just happened. They also haven't sent the money so it could be for naught LOL.

Since everyone has been so helpful here I want to pass something along, even if it isn't much. They don't do film at the schools here anymore so no place local.

I have a Pentax K1000 with the 50mm f2 lens I need to give away. I have a ME Super and an MX, so I don't really need the K1000. It's missing the battery cover for the meter battery and in general is scuffed up, but no major dings. I've put a battery from my MX in it and using it's cover the meter matches what my MX gets with the same lens FWIW. You can get covers on that big auction site for next to nothing. The lens has a scratch or something on the inside of the front element (you can see it on the last photo on the right side not quite 1/2 way up from the bottom) so it's been taken apart at one time, but if I put some crosshairs on the film plane and look through the front of the lens with another camera at infinity it seems to be sharp, or dang close. I don't think the scratch would cause any issues to be honest. The little rubber ring on the focus dial tend to slip if you don't grab it well. Another easy fix. The aperture works fine with no sticking that I could tell.

I didn't give much for it and only ask for the cost of shipping it to someplace in the CONUS, should you want it for parts, to use, to pass on, etc. PM me if interested. Sometimes my notifications don't seem to get emailed to me, so be patient if I don't answer right away

Here's a few quick photos I snapped this evening.

K1000 back up for grabs due to original taker saying he has too many cameras. Is there such a thing

A while ago, I made a set of bellows which I documented here: http://www.freewebs.com/stevesmithphoto/bellows.html

Whilst they turned out o.k. they were not quite what I had planned. I have recently made a new set which fit my new camera better so if anyone wants a set of home made bellows for experimenting with, they are available for the cost of postage.

Rear 165mm square, front 90mm square with an internal dimension (just) big enough for 5x4.

O.K. I will try to work out the postage cost. Give me a few days as I have a busy weekend coming up.

Please PM your address to me with a post code if you have one.

EDIT: Looking at the Post Office website, it will probably be about £5.
