Leitz Prado Universal w. automated tray-attachement
(I did not even know such attachment existed...)

"Freund Gregor" episode from the west-german tv crime series "Tatort" (Scene of Crime) 1979

location: conference room of the Stasi, who likely would have used the Pentacon Aspectomat...

Battery holder:

Though maybe the batteries were actually contained in that case he is wearing on his chest and the tube at the camera just a grip. See the releasen switch too.

I loved the crinkle sound and the slight odor. I always think of Christmas, my Dad would shoot Kodachrome slides, Argus C3. I found his Ricoh folding flash holder the other day. I remember as a kid putting the test lamp in to check the battery.. 25B flashbulbs. A silver dime a piece.

I still have all those perfect slides. I made some really nice Cibachrome prints.
There was an "adapter" on some C3 flashes that allowed the use of Sylvania #25/25B and GE/Westinghouse #5/5B flash bulbs. Without that "adapter", you could use Press 40/40Bs which had a screw-base like a lightbulb for a household lamp. If you needed more light, you could also use a #22/22B or a #3/3B bulb. A bulb could explode (rarely) if the glass envelope was cracked before using. You needed to use care when changing bulbs when using LF camera shutters as some of the older shutters flash contacts remained closed until the shutter was cocked. I have seen burned fingers result from forgetting this. At least once, they were mine........Regards!

Not an old movie - a brand new one!
The new Apollo 11 movie.
There must be thousands of still and movie film cameras shown in the various scenes. Including some on the moon!
It apparently came about because of the discovery of a massive archive of photographic materials - both motion picture and still - along with the mission control audio tapes. A significant portion of the motion picture material is on 65mm colour film.
My wife and I saw it in an IMax theatre. It is absolutely worth paying extra for that, because the work they have done with the discovered materials is spectacular.
Best cinema experience I have had in a long while.
Here is a useful review: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/v...tary-is-jaw-droppingly-gorgeous/#.XICcT8BKiiQ

Actually, this is a new movie, Kodachrome, starring Ed Harris as a dying, curmudgeonly old photographer. Quite a few shots of him handling and shooting an M Leica. A chrome M4-P. Not all that old, I suppose, but not all that new, either.

It's available on Netflix right now. Damn. I miss Kodachrome.

Hardly an "old movie," but we saw Apollo 11 today. Excellent! The contrast between the film footage and the video was staggering; note the still shots on the Moon. Hasselblad, right? And the movie sequences of the transporter, etc, were spectacular. The spectators were decked out with cameras, film of course. I spotted a Nikkormat, a Pentax Spotmatic (I think), any number of point and shoot boxes, movie cameras, etc. In Houston's mission control shooters with 16mm movie cameras roamed about documenting the events and many of the engineers in Houston and Florida sported SLRs. Even though we knew the outcome it still built some suspense. There were a couple of small boys in the audience, we wondered if they found it interesting.
Do see Apollo 11.

For those of you in a romantic mood...

A freelance photographer falls in love with a girl from a wealthy home... who gets seriously ill.
Thus quite some gear to see.

"Pisi Pisi" , Turkey , drama , 1975

unidentified camera and Nikon F w. pistol-grip

Futhermore he uses a Nikkormat, a Rolleiflex, a Praktisix.
Sinars and studio stuff show up too.

Yes, a certain Spotmatic model was my first thought,as prism shape, PC connector, reflections at mount, all fitted, but I could not find a sample with silver rewind button...

First time I learn of that model... very good idea, but it got no high, silver rewind button... And to me that thing on the rewind side seems rather a PC connector than a sensor window.
Likely we shall never know. But we shall find more movies...

A issue with this movie is that it was originally completely dubbed afterwards, thus has no on-set sounds. As result in a fashion show scene one hears instead of the typical SLR sound the sound of a leaf shutter at 1/2sec ...

I am sure you have experienced such at other movies too.

A aspect aside of cameras and such that comes to my mind with this movie, is how in fictional movies on photographers the appartment/house of the photographer is depicted. I find this interesting.
