I do not understand how someone can jump from "I have no use for XYZ" to "therefore all XYZ are bad".

It is really not difficult to understand. I am a consumer. I have concluded that since I cannot use G lenses on my favorite analog cameras, G lenses are bad for me. Therefore, I will vote with my wallet. I will avoid buying G lenses and I will express my opinion on the Analog Forum.

Potatoes, good bad or meh? I say bad. I wish I knew that, I used one to take photos of my kids and they all came out soft and mashed. :D

Did he? He did the OS for a computer that can only address 1MB of memory. He had to reserve some memory for the hardware.

He's repeatedly denied ever saying that and there's no actual evidence he's lying. It's an urban myth at this point.

Bill Gates said 640KB of memory was all anyone would ever need.

I remember a Radio Shlock salesman telling me that no one would even need more than 48k for the Trash 80 computer.

Optically most of the ones I've used are very good if a little lacking in character, I believe 'modern' looking is the term. I sold all of the ones I had recently as I can't use them on my mirrorless Fujifilm or old film gear.
