I was going by my own faulty memory. But yes, I also like the built-in hood. Mine became a little warped at one point, but it was easily fixed.

And they won't fall of and get stepped on.

I converted mine with a dremel and made an f-stop marking strip with a label maker. It's not absolutely perfect looking but it works and has no issues. It was a bit of a laborious and noisy process but not the end of the world.
