Black & White tie. Class.

Good news....we worry about our favourite films and the economics which hopefully keep them in production, then forget the other essential bits like cassettes! And I'm sure that you can't order a cassette-making machine off-the-shelf!

Way to go Harman/Ilford! Great to hear of the long-term investment. In celebration I'll burn and buy some FP4 today! Happy to support those who are in it for the long-haul!

"cassette manufacturing facility" reminded me first of mixtapes, handwritten labels, BASF, TDK and whatnot.

Happy to hear about the commitment.

Fantastic news, Simon! Will you also manufacture film cassettes for bulk loading purposes?

Thanks.

Maxell, That's, Memorex, Scotch, Sony, Philips, and Denon, and you could get nowhere without Dolby HX Pro... Or how about Dolby Digital?!
Home taping kills music! :D

Just one more reason to patronize Ilford (as if PanF Plus/FP4 Plus/HP5 Plus were not reason enough!). Thanks, Folks!:D

My neighbor, a long time veteran of the music industry (on the sales side) just opened a vinyl record shop about a mile from my house here in the ATL. Not a CD or a cassette to be seen anywhere! Nothing but LPs, EPs, 45s and even a few 78s.

Niche business, of course, but very welcome nonetheless. :D

Good news thank you

A million Bucks is not small Change. great to see that level of commitment. Hope that you will be able to find external customers for realated products (Metal Packaging) (Litho tinplate) to help with the amorization.

So was there really a problem sourcing these from outside the company, or is it just being a cost advantage and maybe to ensure supply? Other film makers don't seem to have a problem getting cassettes.

Would it be possible to make reloadable snap cap or scew on designs rather than crimped and sell them for bulk loading? Especially if they were available in different DX-codings as those are kind of hard to find now. I think only ISO 100 DX coding is available.
