Hello everyone!

New to the board, obviously.....

I just recently purchased a 35MM Minolta X7A from E-bay which will be arriving soon. I have been using my fathers Pentax ME Super which he has reclaimed for his own use....

I've been an amateur photographer for a number of years since high school and try to capture a variety of subjects. One of will will be my beautiful gal! :D

Thank you. I have a couple Digi-cams too, but I grew up (literally) with dad's Pentax. Paper media is still my preferred photograph medium.

Welcome aboard and to the addiction. That 50mm is one of my favorites....if it's a 1.7. I still use it regularly. Have fun!

Pete - hello and welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts.

I'm gonna have to relearn all the fine details, but I'll pick it up quick. I haven't used dad's Pentax since I moved to the Pacific Northwest Coast a few years ago. Just put it away and got busy elsewhere. Now that I'm free of the abusive ex-wife, I'm gonna start again with my hobby.

Well come to Apug Petej,a lot of pretty country up by you and a lot to photo.

Yes there is. :D I'm in Vancouver taking a mini-vaca before i move in with my Girlfriend next week. I'm having it delivered here in Vancouver so I can get some shots of my old fishing ground and some friends that live here.....

Feels good having a camera back in my hands.

Welcome, from a very near neighbour!

I love Dad's Pentax. I was looking for one, but the Minolta came along at the right price....

Welcome in the GAS affected lot. I suggest you don't look any further than Minolta SR mount lenses (also called MD, or MC/MD lenses by many, for whichever reason). Minolta manual focus lenses tend to be very, very good and relatively cheap in the second-hand market. I have a Minolta gear set and never felt the need for anything different to replace it.

Welcome to APUG, Pete, from a fellow Minolta user. Have fun with your camera!

I've run two rolls thru it already! Yikes!

Not much artsy stuff, just clean, test shot, clean, test shot, clean, test shot......repeat.

Basically learning the camera.......

Just a quick update:

I made it too Bellingham, WA almost two weeks ago. I've been busy lining up work and teaching my Beautiful Girlfriend how to use the Minolta.

I'll keep up with things here on the board as I have the time too!
