Hi all, I’m Bruce from UK. 🇬🇧, not Ukraine…

I’ve come on here to try and find out how to fix a broken No 1 Pocket Kodak that I’ve had for about three months and now the bed that the lens assembly slides on has somehow come loose. So the assembly moves with the bed and the bellows won’t extend fully. I’ve put a few rolls through it already (one still in there)

Anyway, I’ve got a small collection of cameras mixed between 35mm and MF (Bronica ETRSi, Pentacon 6, Lubitel, Agfa Billy Record which was my grandad’s as well as the Kodak. Oh and a Noon pinhole which is also MF.

As far as 35mm, I have my Ricoh XR-7 that’s I’ve had from new in the 80s, an AE-1Program that someone was giving away for $40 about ten years ago plus a few compacts like a Rolleimat and a Rollei 35s.

If anyone can give me any pointers on the Kodak No 1, I’d be very grateful. Maintenance doesn’t seem to be a priority with these things; I can find a manual anywhere!

Thanks

Bruce

Welcome, Bruce from UK.

It must be nice to hail for the country of Dallmeyer, Ross, Cooke, Taylor, etc.

I am always a little jealous of those in London or Paris, I bet it is a fruitful place for flee market gold. In the new world, pickings are slimmer, so I end up on eB*y Instead.

Good luck w the Kodak.

Kodak No 1

I think the front standard pulls out to the end of that bed (stops at the pin) and the camera is focused by moving the bed forward and back by the knurled knob on the side? There's a focus scale on the opposite side with a line on the bed to show distance - its travel is limited by a rivet in a slot behind the scale. Is it just coming out freely? You should still be able to lock focus using the lever behind the knurled knob.

A couple more photos might help.
