The included ring should be fitted on the cog lid for use with their tank or the compatible Jobo tanks they listed. Those cogs are supposed to be fitted very securely like you are saying, and not really intended to be removed with any regularity. You would want them to be hard to remove, versus the opposite.
No wonder theres a special video showing how to remove the cog!! (Hammer and screwdriver)
Yes but I mean the Expert drum specifically (not the regular Jobo tanks using the 4x5 Jobo reel)
I would hope so too, since I have 3005 for my 8x10 processing. But that would require a much bigger machine and stronger motor, even for desktop. Besides I think there are far fewer expert drum users out there.
Thus for 4x5, I think smaller 15xx and 25xx Jobo tanks with reels are the best compromise.

Got this answer from Reflex overnight ..
The o ring is a spare part for replacement in future. You only need to put the cog to the Jobo tank. And it will work fine.

I'm pretty tempted because my C41 processing system is rather agricultural to say the least.
I'm sorry, but I'm obviously a bit slow and reflxlab site is unfortunatelly of no help...
I have Jobo 1520 and 2521 tanks (with magnets and silicone lids) that I use with my CPE 2 without lift. Can I use those tanks with the Ice Cream Evo? Would I have to remove the magnets from my tanks? With the cog installed on the tank that would mean that tank inversion development is no longer possible.
It would be then better to buy a dedicated 2521 tank for this machine, since taking the magnet on/off will definitely break the pins on the magnet and putting the con on/off is obviously no fun either...?

You would indeed have to remove the magnets that you currently use and install their proprietary magnet. As for the cog lid that they provide; they also provide a silicone cap which could possible be used for inversion process. I haven't tried that. Though, in your case it seems getting a spare take just for use with this machine would be best.

Good luck, as that won’t likely come from me. I prefer to mainly shoot when there’s clouds

Mine also arrived today.
It rotates forward 30 times, stops for less than a second, and then repeats with 30 rotations in the reverse direction.
I’m wondering if yours does the same thing.

I wonder why they opted for such pattern?
Did their tests show better development uniformity or would changing direction more often stress their design more...?
Assuming the direction change is actually beneficial, 30 rotations between changes seems like too much to me.
