Well, maybe as a compromise then, Sean could create a subforum in The Soapbox. Maybe call it "Extroduce Yourself From APUG"! :D

I like that! Extroduce.

Is that like Increting and Exgesting? Those are obvious inversions similar to yours.

I exgest sometimes when I get intestinal flu, but have never had the chance to increte. I don't think I would want to.

Someday, I may get a chance to Extroduce though. What a wonderful inspiration.

I just kind of look at it this way, the whiners are whining about the whiners, and at one time or another everybody whines about something, in this last round, someone whined, and then someone whined about them whining...

Geeze I am so confuse, does that mean I can whine somemore! But now if you or I whine, then you get deleted.....awe good ole' censorship! for whining....so everybody just be quiet!

:D

After the last days, with showing of foreskins, seal skins, accusations of some models not having a normal BMI and on top of that, several deities blended into the mix I am a bit exhausted. And now extroductions!

Can't we just go back to a little bickering about Leicas, if they are as good as some people say, or the latest developer made out of uranium and coffee?

Now this is what I was waiting for on the 'other' thread; for people to start talking about food and/or drink!! lol Off topic can be more than half the fun. I wonder what's in the fridge?...

I think it's Polonium and coffee that one needs to be concerned about. Never, never, never extroduce yourself over a meal (especially sushi) or a drink!

Hey at least banning is a surefire way of 'leaving', I think those who grand stand their departure never really leave. I assume when they are banned they cant even read the thread yes? If not I think thats the way it should be for those folks so they cannot gloat over any replies.

there used to be a commercial for a furniture store in the boston area in the 1970s. there was a fire in the warehouse, and he was "hanging up his coat forever" ... they ran the ad for about 5 years

if we can't grandstand, how are we supposed to get our 15 mins of fame ?

Jnanian,

apparently grandstanding is not allowed anymore, so I guess we just have to have "Fun"!

When you get hurt or offended, just take a few weeks or even a few months off. Then come back. I've done that several times with different forums. There's one I won't go back to, the guy I had flame wars with is now a moderator there!

This reminds me of those "schlock" electronics stores that used to plague Fifth Avenue in NYC during the "bad times" and were always "Going Out Of Business".

They've passed the scene with the NYC "resurgence" but I was reminded of them last week while in Tucson.

There was an oriental rug store there with a huge banner "Retirement Sale - 70% Off!".

We went in for a look see. All the sales folk looked quite relaxed for people about to lose their jobs and the cheapest rug was around $6000!

As we left I said to my wife that there were only two explanations for this:

1) Uncle Omar is retiring and Uncle Jamil is taking over the store.

or...

2) The janitor is retiring and they wanted him to feel "important" by holding a "sale" in his honor! :D

Unfortunately with all of the recent goings on, we have now lost several prominent members of this community. Additionally, we may be opening the community up to potential problems (legal and otherwise) due to the concerns of what may considered to be pornography by those from the outside this community (or those that have raised question) for the gallery images in question.

Rich,

That is very true, and unfortunately, I think both sides of the argument are to blame...

Rich,

If that is the case, than that is a sad thing. But there is no "collective guilt" about it either. There was no conspiracy to chase anyone away - at least not one I was aware of.

One can never guess what are the real motives of anyone doing anything - which is why I think that Sean has it correct in saying "no more grand exits" will be tolerated.

Most, if not all of us, have been in situations in life where there was some group or club that we once felt "close to" but that we then ultimately lost our interest in being with. Usually you just walk away and move on - without needing to tell everyone you're leaving - as if your just hoping they'll "see the wrongness of their ways" and beg you to stay!

Sorry to see anyone go - but I suspect that in doing so - its for the best for all.

Not really the only person to blame is the person who made the decision to leave and not weather the storm. We all decide our actions no matter what others do.

To prevent things like this from happening in the future, I believe that many (some) of us have to have some consideration for others in what we post. George, I am not suggesting that there is a collective guilt, but we do have to take some responsibility for our comments, actions, and postings and how others will react. We all have to show some degree of restraint at times and be tolerant of the opinions and feelings of others.

It is very easy to be tolerant of an opinion, if that opinion happens to be the same or at least close to the same as yours...I find we are all guilty of not being tolerant of those opinions that differ from those of our own..

I have watched many threads evolve over the last few months, one thread may condemn someone and many will jump on it because it does, then a very simular thread will pop up with virtually the same message and many will agree with it..

And really I think with the nature of humans, there is nothing that is going to control how an opinion goes...

One thread can accuse of censorship and another can be praised because of censorship..

If your with the majority, then no problem, if your with the minority, then watch out..

Go figure.
