The hardest part of returning the M6 into production will be moving the factory back to Solms.
Hard to get excited about a new film camera when the cost of film has tripled and processors have dried-up. Although probably not a concern when paying Leica prices.
if you can afford a Rolls-Royce, you dont worry about the price of fuel, if you can aford a Leica, you don't worry about the price of film. several folks have hinted over the last few years that 12 bucks a roll is about the break even point if you have to include the total cost of Capital used.
they used to make the M4 in Midland Ontario. (that factory is now a defense contractor) I am sure that the company can find a good location to build a new unit. The hardest part of returning the M6 into production will be moving the factory back to Solms.
Limited edition of 500. So the 23rd limited edition M6 series!
The Leica M6 film camera reissue will be announced on October 20 with a price tag of around €4,800

Well I'm out. Not that I was every realistically in the market, but I had hopes that it *might* come in below $3k and I could maybe justify it.

Now keep this between you and me Chris.. you can buy a brand spankin new MP from reddotcamera in the UK for 3700 GBP. You can use it for a bit and then sell it here in the US for more than you bought it for.
Remember, this is between you and me.
Still a bit steep, but they have M2s for a decent price. Next time I'm over there, I need to stop by in person.
