The 120 vs 120mm issue - I agree with you, because 120mm is both wrong and totally confusing.
I have mixed feelings about Holga and Lomography. There are great things done by some who use them. They have created inroads into communities that would otherwise never have used film. And they also have invoked elements of myth and mysticism that irritate me, particularly when those elements have high prices attached.
Being critical of the myths and those who espouse them isn't the same as being snobbish.
I don't own any Holga or Lomography products. Does pinhole count?

How about a Brownie Hawkeye?

Both on 120 film.

I don't know where the problem is ,,
I can produce the same image in brown color, and I can control the degree of browning and convert the negative film into positive transparency by the process (AGFA-

SCALA) as I did with this roller which is (FP4).
I don’t know why these people are exaggerating so much, as if they had reinvented the wheel.

The only problem I really had is scanning those slides.
I have an old scanner ,, and ViewScan app doesn't recognize anything about monochrome strips ,,
It only recognizes the color slides, so he considers those slides to be colored, and this made me turn off all the color channels in the app and set it to zero. Despite that, these pictures came out, and I was not satisfied with them.
The slides are there. I can shoot them with mobile phones for those who don't believe me.

Would be nice but if it is what HP5+ to TriX is from a price point of view, I think I'll stick with FP4+ I still have some Plus X it's a nice film.

I know. I love FP4-Plus. I threw that out there to get the thread back on track

What came of these rumours? Was there ever any substance?

I can't find the post now, but someone replied in this thread to say Kodak was working on two new slide films and their source for this information was a relative who works for Kodak (pretty sure that poster was from the UK).

According to people usually well informed there was really some plan to release new films in 2021, but it has been clearly postponed or cancelled. Since there was no official annoucement from Kodak (Eastman or Alaris) there is nothing to claim. Just to Andy Church for being a bit sloppy...

As you might have noticed we are still in a pandemic. Some resources are really hard to come by, prices of some raw materials have increased by 50%

That is not helping the development (no pun inteded) of a niche product with low margin.

And Kodak sold their chemical production to overseas this year or something.

There was a plan, but the plan participants had not yet decided which film or, more accurately, which films, in which order.
I expect that work is still being done on the plan, although obviously it isn't the priority it was.
And the sale of the chemical marketing business is probably irrelevant to the new film question.

So I guess everyone is going to lobby for Kodachrome and Verichrome Pan. I am just hoping they will be able to supply their current lineup with some regularity in the coming months.

The ongoing pandemic and supply crisis makes any schedule fluid. I think there's plenty of opportunity to fill out Kodak's line up.

Obvious would be a more amateur oriented 120 color negative film. If Kodak could manage infrared film, that would be quite a feat. Whatever is in the works it's got to be highly profitable and not cannibalize current products.

Alaris is our advocate, they have been beat up unduly IMHOFWIW.

From what I could glean, neither were in the running :D.

Kodachrome is not just a film, it also a specialized processor, at it's height I was told that there only 6 world wide, by the last only one in Kanas. Maybe a high speed Ektachrome, 400 would be nice.
