At first and second look it does not seem different technically from its two predecessors.

It even lacks the macro attachment of the second model.
EDIT: attachment IS included.

Will it replace the current model?

Thanks Henning!

A close-up lens adapter is included to enable focus as close as 40-50 cm from the subject.

Is that what is suppose to be missing?

Yes, but I re-read the text and it is included too.

So it seems just a new dress for the camera.
Nice news for those who dislike the current design. But nothing to get "excited" about as Fuji states.

The more important information I guess is that it is a further indication of Fuji's commitment to instant photography.

OK, as expected. It is not ugly any more, but not revolutionary. Lets wait will it be any news on Photokina. Instax B&W for example...that would be something!

Yeah, this looks like exactly the same camera as the 210, just not stupid looking anymore. Such a shame as Fuji really had a chance to make a decent camera for the enthusiast but apparently took a pass on that. I was really excited and now feel let down. I REALLY enjoy my kid's INSTAX cameras and would get this wide model today if it were more than a toy, which it is not.

Funny, I was THIS close to buying an INSTAX Neo 90 this weekend, but then thought to wait until after Photokina, thinking that there might be some INSTAX news. There was, but not good enough news.

If only fuji made more FP-1 cameras... Sigh. That's the only instant film camera I really want.

If they made the Instax 500AF again, I would pick it up in a heartbeat!

Better, but still a toy camera. Why can't an instant camera be made for the enthusiasts? Is there some law against good shutter speeds? Lenses with more than 3 elements? Good viewfinders?

Or develop an Instax back for 4x5 cameras.

This is the first time I learn about an Instax 500AF.
It left no traces in my archive, and I guess many others never heard of it too.

Thank you for hinting at it.

It did exist but not for very long. As the name suggests, it had autofocus.
