Hello everybody,

I recently joined up after recently buying a used Mamiya RZ67 pro ii. To top it all off I recently moved to Belgrade in Serbia (from the UK) where I shall soon start to find decent shops stocking film.

I've been using Nikon DSLR's for the last few years and an Olympus c5050 prior to that. However, my very first real camera was a Practika LTL50 which I had great fun with.

I decided to take 'step back' with my photography as I feel the move back to film will help my photography overall.

I've never used a serious medium format camera before and just loaded my first roll of film into the Mamiya. Can't wait to get out and have a play.

I have however recently (there's that word again) tinkered with a Holga which was, well, a blast to be honest. Waiting for the film to be developed was a real pleasure - not knowing how it would all turn out, and actually having to wait! Fortunately it wasn't too bad.

Next step is to try my hand at a bit of film processing.

Cheers,

Tim

Hello Tim,

Welcome.

Welcome to APUGland Tim! Adox and Foma materials should be readily available in your area and are well worth a go.

Tim - welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts USA. You've come to the right spot for film and darkroom concerns. Have fun with the RZ.

Welcome to APUG!

Last year I bought lots of Efke films from Hamer Photo. Its located in an apartment (6th or 8th floor) building next to Bosko Buha theater (I think).
That was last year, so I cant be sure if they still exist or if they are still there. I should have their phone number somewhere.

Hey there Tim.
Maybe you can join our Balkan group and start making photographic friends in the area.

Hi Tim

I also made the 'step back' from digital to film and it has been the best move I have ever made! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Theres a ton of information on here but if you get stuck just ask.
Welcome to APUG.

Mike

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome.

Matis, thanks for the info - I'll see if I can find it.

Ari - Already joined!

Good to see so many RB / RZ users around - all the more people to answer some of the daft questions that I'm sure to have as I learn.

I found the card they gave me. This should help. They didn't speak English though.

That's great thanks. I even know where Trg Republika is - which is always a good start.

Hvala and Thanks for the other comments too.

Well, just a quick update on Hammer - Foto or CentroFoto-Hammer if you're looking for it these days.

I eventually found it after a fair bit of looking around the square and it was the most surprising place - not much more than a very very small office from what I could see.

I bought a developer tank, couple rolls of Efke R100 roll film, developer and fixer all ready to start developing my own films (once I've bought a few more bits and pieces).

There was a young women that spoke a little English and we managed to get through. TBH it was all very quaint and actually very pleasant. They did give me a long price list and so, at first glance, they can supply a wide range of film / paper d&P chemicals etc.

I'll be asking for more advice on the combination of the film and developer they've supplied me - unfortunately this is where very simple english isn't really up to the task.

Thanks for he contact details.

Tim
