All I see is fluff and BS. Show something real. Like it would kill them.

Of course, this type of hype can backfire...

Maybe Ilford has kept track of their special film run to see what sells the most and they're coming out with 127 film and maybe, just maybe 122 and 118. Of course 116 and 616 would be lovely too. That way young folks could buy cheap old cameras and have a blast. I know, wishful thinking.

What a strange place to put it! This clearly belongs in "Industry News"! ;-)
I think the forum is perfectly apt.
The "Industry News" forum should rather be used for more general news.
Fitting though would be that Harman for their Ilfod Photo for the first time is applying such countdown, teaser approach in marketing.

Unlike other Ortho films with a speed of 3 or 25, this new Ortho film can be used for handheld photography. Means more people are likely to use it.
Well, sure it does and it will likely be more readily available than other ortho type films, but it still remains basically indifferent. I don't think the ortho look is very appealing to be honest. Considering the hype created about this "new" film, this was quite a let down IMHO. On the other hand, the updated RC paper is far more exciting news.

If it is Ortho Plus in 135/120, it would be very welcome news to me, particularly if it's at a baseline price similar to the other offerings, unlike Rollei Ortho 25.

As it is, I cut down sheets of this film to use in various formats and find it has a very attractive look to it.

I too would be very happy about an ortho film. Especially if it was the price of hp5 ~+/- 15%. Keeping my fingers crossed, looking forward to the official announcement.

I like Astrum's Micrat ortho film (ISO 3) very much. It's slow but has its strengths. Surely a higher speed film is a welcome addition to ortho family of films. Street photographers in particular might relish the look of ortho and the speed of the new Ilford film.

So 15:00 GMT/UTC (Zulu) ??

This is the high point of my social calendar for October.

For us Brits, the big day is the 31st of October. Doubtful it will be seen a high point though. Whatever Boris does, half of the electorate will feel betrayed. Which half though? Maybe he'll go for broke and betray all of us?

Yes, ortho @ISO80 is nice to have, but they basically just coated an emulsion they already had onto different film bases suitable for smaller formats.

Why do I care? Because real innovation is a good indicator of industry health. Let's hope this Multigrade V paper really does bring something new to the table.
