Just picked up a Hasselblad 500cm kit from a local camera shop the other day. Everything seemed to be working ok in the store but when I took it home, I noticed a problem right away. Every time I clicked the shutter button (with the shutter lever on the "T" setting), the camera jams up. The shutter will open and mirror will lift up, but they both stay in that position until I move the shutter lever to the "O" setting". This happens when the A12 back is both on and off the camera body. When the shutter switch is in the "O" setting, everything seems to be working fine and nothing jams up.

This is the first time I've ever used a Hasselblad, so maybe I'm not doing something right here. But based on the instructions I've read and other guides I've read online, it sounds like something is wrong with the camera. Should I return it or is there something I'm not doing right? The store I purchased it from offers a 30 day guarantee on used equipment, so I'm not worried about getting my money back if needed.

Ahhh, ok. Thank you for the reply. I think I finally understand what's going on here. I assumed "O" setting was for timed exposures because he inside flaps stayed open for as long as you held the button down. I totally forgot that there was a shutter inside the lens which still controlled the light coming into the camera.

I still can't advance the winder or press the shutter button with the A12 back on however. Does it have to be loaded with film in order to work? I have the dark slide removed.

Thanks again for the reply. Looks like I have a new style A12 back...I popped out the film holder and re-inserted it to zero it. Shutter button & crank was working fine after that. Thanks for the help!
