I saw a video a couple of days ago from September of this year. And the photographer was using new Agfa 400 color speed film. He said it is made in Germany. The colors were very nice and he put a link to where he bought it. I will include the link to where he bought the film. Thanks in Advance.

I don't think so. Made in Germany could be Orwo NC 400 or 500. Desaturated colours...
 
Wasn't there a thread on this a good while ago where it was established that it was no more Agfa film than is the current AgfaPhoto b&w film?

Agfaphoto APX 100 + 400 B/W film is rebranded Kentmere. Agfapan from Leverkusen/Germany has been discontinued a long time ago.

Sounds plausible. Although 'made in Germany' can also mean "packaged in Germany, but actual film made wherever". Still, the alleged 'pastel colors' and the somewhat coarse grain (going by the examples) would be consistent with Orwo.
 
Oh, so it's basically dead in the water as it is. And it confirms that it's Orwo if I'm not mistaken. Orwo used InovisCoat for their color film work. I don't think Inovis is in business anymore and things haven't been going very well for them for a long time.

GT Company must hold the license for AgfaPhoto color/colour film. There is a vendor also offering it on Amazon in the U.S., but it's USD $24.99/roll.

This Orwo NC500/NC400 is turning up left and right besides the usual, but Inoviscoat is allegedly dead? Lomography introducing two new emulsions made by Inoviscoat just last year in addition to the older ones?

They must've coated miles of this stuff before going down or the relabelers are fine with investing in small limited series or Inoviscoat is still alive (in one form or another).
 
Inoviscoat the company is likely dead-but the equipment is probably still out there. I would not be surprised if it was bought/sold/acquired and is operating on a contract basis.
 
Why do You think Inoviscoat is dead? Orwo has recently refilled their web shop witch both photographic films, bulk rolls and cinema film 16mm and 35mm that were out of stock previously. Other companies are putting film from inviscoat on the market.
Just curious about this inoviscoat information.

From my understanding Inviscoat, Filmotec and Orwo is more or less the same company or at least owned by the same parent company.
And they are coating for polaroid in Monheim, right?

Shanghai GP3 100 220 - still an unfinished product?

GP-3 has no relation to plus-X. GP-3 is UN54 from what I’ve gathered. Thank you. You may be right. But, when I go to Orwo's site for UN54, it says "Compare to Eastman Plus-X", so perhaps the films are not very dissimilar?

both FilmoTec and InovisCoat (which are meanwhile owned by the same owner, and a kind of "sister-companies") are both still officially in insolvency. A restructuring plan is approved, but the future is still uncertain.

From a viewpoint of business health, there's a massive difference between 'being the same company' and 'being owned by the same entity'. One of the main rationales for having several business entities inside the same group or under the same umbrella of ownership is precisely the possibility of having one or more of them fail without wreaking havoc on the assets and activities of the others.

Are they? Isn't it the other way around - Inoviscoat having access to Polaroid-owned coating facilities in Monheim? AFAIK Inoviscoat is at this point basically more or less an empty husk with no assets apart from some IP that may or may not be marketable. Which is likely the whole reason why these companies are presently in the same hands; it's likely more about hopes to license or sell this intellectual property than to actually produce anything.

Yeah, I tried to read up on this but the actual situation seems to bee a bit complicated and not clear to me. Inoviscoat and Filmotec seams to have been liquidated during April 2022 but II also think that Orwo released NP100 and NC500 after this, but maybe all the coating was already done?
Both InovisCoat ant Filmotec has been active after this listed liquidation date. So it doesn't make sense to me.

Orwo net also changed from being a AG to a GmbH in November 2021 and thereafter their earnings doesn't seem to as easy to find publicly.

Yes, My information was from an old statement from ORWO. As I understand it now the company that was InovisCoat, later InovisProject is more or less now Polaroid film GmbH Monheim. (100% owned by Polaroid B.V in the Netherlands ) It is the same facility that InovisCoat previously owned the machinery in, but transfered to Polaroid film GmbH. But InovisCoat still somehow existed as a separate entity with some kind of access to the Monheim facility. Probably like you said, because they still own the IP like Glow-tech and their other patents.

I'm not sure that I'm adding any new, accurate or relevant information here som I will stop digging into this.

Don't worry about that, please. It's perfectly fine and a great way to explore a topic, and we're pretty much OK with some degree of redundancy here, since it often adds a new perspective to the subject matter anyway. But...it might be a good idea to start a new thread about it, or perhaps split off your post #14 into a new thread of its own. How does that sound?

This OptiColour 200 looks really interesting and with 9,90 Euro per roll, is priced very competitively!
 
Looks like it's a massive improvement over the other ORWO color films. I like them both to an extent, but the colors are definitely more saturated in this one.
