Someone I know found some rolls of Jessop Pan 400 film that they shot some years ago but which they never had processed. They asked me if I would develop it and scan it for them. I have searched for development info on this film but I find as many guesses about who made this film, what it is equivalent to, and how it should be processed as there are people making those guesses. Does anyone know what this film really is so that I can process it with a reasonable degree of confidence. Some claim it was made by Agfa; others are sure it was made by Ilford, Konica, Foma, Efke, Adox, etc. I even found a thread about it on APUG but unfortunately it got side-tracked and no clear answer ever surfaces. If someone has processed this film, I would greatly appreciate it if you could suggest a standard film that it may be close enough to as far as development specs goes.

I only have times for 35mm Pan 400s (note the suffix 's') off the box I kept. IIRC this is newer than the Pan 400, probably a different film/manufacturer.

Rodinal 1+25: 7 mins
D76/ID11 stock: 8 mins, 1+1: 9 mins.
T-Max 1+4: 6 mins
Microphen stock: 10 mins 30 secs
Ilfotec HC 1+31: 6 mins

Based on ISO 400, small tank with 2 inversions every 30 seconds.

Dear Simon,

I would suggest it is probably of AGFA manufacture but regardless, when we get these type of requests
regarding processing standard reply is always 8mins stock ID11

I have just been given a very old roll of exposed Jessop 400 PAN. (not 400s)
Owner says it was shot over 20 years ago and placed in a drawer.
I used RO9 @ 25/1 and 20 degrees C.
8 minutes with two agitations per minute.
Results are excellent.
It is imprinted Jessop 400 PAN and I suspect it might be HP5 re-labelled
