Playing it safe this time around and staying in a hotel. Might be bringing along a blonde and a wiener dog.

Always welcome. We will need to introduce the Weiner dog carefully to the Labs so they are friendly rather than growling.

There is an interesting photo exhibit available the weekend of our event.

Fragile Waters
 June 7 - September 14, 2014
This groundbreaking traveling exhibition features 119 black and white photographs—spanning a century—by Ansel Adams, Ernest Brooks II, and Dorothy Kerper Monnelly. A powerful aesthetic and environmental statement, the exhibit assembles work by internationally renowned artists to address the fact that water is crucial for all life on planet Earth. The photographs focus on the natural landscape, and will engage viewers in contemplating the aesthetic quality of water, along with its essential value.

I've been poking around the Flats using Google Maps...I think I know what my Saturday is going to be...driving around the flats, getting lost, trying side streets and back ways. :D

but wait…. there’s more.

Exhibit: Along the Tracks: O. Winston Link
June 7, 2014 - November 9, 2014
Akron Art Museum

At first glance the photographs of O. Winston Link seem to be simply an extensive project that documents the end of steam locomotives. As we examine the breadth of Link’s output, the images also draw us in with the drama of cinematic lighting, lyrical landscapes and sentimental views that could be illustrations by Norman Rockwell. For example, the ingenious composition of Hot Shot Eastbound, Iaeger, West Virginia captures the end of an era going by in a puff of smoke in the distance while the new automobile culture consumes the foreground.

Featuring photographs from the museum’s collection and several loaned works, the exhibition will examine Link’s technical accomplishments and innovations as a photographer as well as his in-depth documentation of a quickly fading mode of transportation and way of life in rural America.

We're not sure if we will be camping or hotelling this time, but either way, can't wait to see you all soon.

Thanks Jeff. You two always make the party fun. It will be good to see you again.
I have seen some great work on your web site. I don't think it says anything about format. I was terribly jealous when you and your bearer opened up the new to you 12x20 last year. Do you have some work to show from that?

At the time I offered to let you see what my Fuji 600C would produce. I believe you had a 450 Nikon M f9. If you haven't seen the 600 through some one else's offer, bring the 12x20 along.

With a heavy heart I have to withdraw. Recieved a call from the family lawyer in Florida and I need to be there on the 1st of Aug to sign trust papers and handel other legal and local banking matters for my mother since all other efforts included both my mother and my father and he passed so things need to change. I feel honored to serve, just never know when things come up.

On the plus side I will get to visit with mom again, just there over the 4th of July. Although I will miss being with all of my friends and visiting with John and Dolly.

Will take my father's camera with me this visit again and take some photos, even if I can not hang out with you all then I'll be with you in spirit.

Two photos using my dad's camera (has a self timer). My uncle Landis brought it back from Occupied Germany in his travels for my father.
A portrait of my mother Elizabeth and one of her and I.

Minimal farming John, only a few tomato plants, peppers and some kale. The deer, ground hogs and rabbits are having a feast with the flower garden though. The patient is up and about and has been comissioned to do a steel fabircated 'art' gate and fence for a winery near Ripley NY. Here is a link to some of his sculptures. http://www.ronbayuzick.com/Sculptures.htm

I'm working hard at completing my new studio. I've got the hood for the ventilation mounted, and the blower hung, just have to get a cap / hat for the pipe so the rain doesn't come in. The guys decided to hook it up through the stink pipe and through the roof. I just hope that's feasible. I told him I want a damper installed too.

Anyway.... about your original question. I guess it depends on how far i get painting and finishing up the trim. We still have to install the intake air vents too. So it's all up in the air. Not to mention the shows and trip to Maine end of August. hope to see you though! And get my laptop fixed. lost some of the keyboard.

I'm excited about the upcoming party at John's place. I'll be there Saturday with some of my new work from Lakeview Cemetery, and maybe a few other things to show. Here are a couple of new ones: HaserotTea1.jpg LakeviewAngelHorn.jpg LakeviewCaponigro.jpg
I'll also bring the new Carleton Watkins:The Stanford Albums book if anyone hasn't had a chance to see it yet.

Dorothy. Thanks for the update. I hope we will see you here.
I hope there is a flap or stopper in that stink pipe system. That could be a pretty smelly darkroom.

my sentiments exactly! However, when the boys are in charge.... well.... I'm actually wondering about the fumes that don't smell... the invisible ones. He said if it smells we can do something else, so I said I'd try it out. So far no smell, but the sound that echoes through the hood is rather loud! Oh well... I got my vent so I'm not complaining and the intake register is 12x24 so another happy item for my list. I developed my second roll of film today. I'm hesitant to do too much because of the sawdust. we're still cutting the trim and sanding. Pretty soon I'm just gonna put a bag over the equipment and enlarger. Gettin' anxious!

It seems that all the hotels in the area are booked, I nabbed a room at the Motel 6 out in Macedonia (about 19 minutes from the property). 311 Highland Rd E Macedonia, OH

Yes, I won't be camping anymore this time around, my tent was wreaked on Sunday morning when it was hit by lightning, thankfully I was warned out of it by the wonderful staff at the state park I was camped out in.

WOW. Glad you are alright Alex.

I looked for a motel for Pete tonight. I don't know what is going on, but everything in North Akron, Fairlawn and Richfield is booked. Try Medina or Macedonia.
