New category, from last week. The “Giant Camera” Obscura took a real beating during our January storms. From the news reports it sounds like the owner has put in an insurance claim, hopefully they will be able to rebuild.

Feels kind of silly to post this after @KitosLAB 's picture, but here it goes. By the way, all my love to the Ukrainian people.

New.
A modest reminder: You're here...
We're here. What a privilege.

Old-
Camera is a Canham 5x12 wood field, lens a Kodak 190mm Wide-Field Ektar IIRC (either that or my 159 Wollensak WA Raptar) Exposure is, as Rolls Royce would put it, "sufficient". Film is FP4+. Printed on Ilford Warmtone Multigrade developed in Ilford Warmtone paper (the warmtone is sublte and does not come through on a computer monitor).

Wow, the storms nearly ripped the entire facade off that side of the building (er... camera)! Very interesting that they left the old lettering in place. Here's an old photo of the Giant Camera, taken two years ago, February 2021:

Nice, thanks for posting the “before” photograph. Here’s a link to a before photo I posted in the Standard Gallery. https://www.photrio.com/forum/media/giant-camera.66223/

New Category, last week.

Funnily enough, as I was exposing the film, I started to hear a woman laughing, she was sitting in her car loading her wheelchair when she saw me and looked up at the sign(s). We had a nice chat..

Old, taken in 2018. Did a walk around with a camera in the same area with one lens quite a few times in this area while waiting to pick the missus up after seeing doctors. 24mm seemed to be the best overall out of 18mm, 24mm ,35mm ,50mm and 85mm

Nikon F3 Sigma 24mm f/2.8 Fuji Neopan 400.

Old.

This was taken in1969 when refrigeration in rural and outback areas of the country was pretty rare. What happened was the local (to a little town/hamlet) person who owned a couple of cows would walk them a few hundred metres into the intersection of the two roads, which was more or less the town and milk the cows by hand and sell the milk to the locals for use that day.

This was taken with a rangefinder camera, either a Canon or a Voigtländer, cannot remember which as I destroyed one during a motorcycle crash that year. The print was made on RC paper, the very first time I used RC paper if my memory is correct, it has stood up well going yellow(ish) in places on the rear.

This is a phone scan of the print.
