The theme of this month's assignment is "Time". It's something very open-ended, so you all should have some fun and get creative. Here's one example of what I'm thinking of:
full

I'd like to see people play with the notion of Time in their photos- long exposures, motion blur, anything that suggests the photograph captures more than a fraction of a second. This would be a great opportunity for playing with a pinhole camera, for example. Or dust off that cable release and un-stick the B setting on your shutter :D

This should be fun. It should be worth devoting some thought and more than a few minutes to 😉.

A reminder - shot on film please. I repeat the request that people note whether submissions are "NEW" - taken in this month - or "OLD" - taken before this month.
I'll do my magic with Sticky threads and I'll update the list of themes thread - found here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/msa-themes-to-date-april-2024.156455/- as well.

Old - January 15th, 2024

A bit literal perhaps. A German clock made in the 50s I inherited from my grandmother.

Fuji Sensia 100 film, expired 2010, in a Canon EOS Elan 7E and the Tamron 45mm f/1.8 DI VC USD image stabilized lens. Home developed in Arista E-6 kit. Around 1/6 second shot handheld wide open in natural dim indoor light.

I took this a few Summers ago, of an abandoned Ukrainian church, in Saskatchewan.
Acros 4x5. Exposed for several hours while I slept in my car. Woke up to fog, as well as fogged lens. I still quite like it, though.
Developed in Pyrocat-HD.

Old one -
From an exhibition in De Grote Kerk Leeuwarden / The Netherlands (Grote of Jacobijnerkerk)

"Killing Time at Tandem"

Rolleicord TLR with Minolta IV meter
Kentmere 120, 400 rated at EI 800 - EI determined by f-stop of f/8 for decent depth of field inside of cafe
Exposure was 1/15th, 1/10th for the Rolleicord, at f/8, handheld. Too cramped for a tripod
Film developed in D23 undiluted for 11 minutes and 15 seconds at 70F/21C
Multitone RC pearl paper developed in Liquidol at 1:9, normal dilution. Didn't have to cut it this time

Funny thing is when I handed the print to a worker at Tandem on 04/08/2024, it was less than a minute before 8:12am lol. The manager liked the image. I was told I could take pictures in there at any time, cool.

#2 - Old Image: 01/29/2024
"Florio - back when"

Hasselblad 501C with 80mm 2.8 lens and Minolta IV meter
Kentmere 120, 400 rated at EI 200
Exposure was 1/60th at f9.5
Film developed in D23 1:1 for 11 minutes and 15 seconds at 68F/20C
Multitone RC pearl paper developed in Liquidol at 1:9

I have a backlog of film pending development, so I hope to have another entry soon, but here is one for now.

Old: the effect of time on an abandoned factory - Nikon FM2N on Lomo 800, lens I think was the 55mm f/2.8 micro

macfred, if you are going to have an accidental double exposure, then having one like that is the best way to go.

That is a really great double exposure.
