That "Storm Victim" is quite the subtle look at time.

I sort of counted somewhere around 50 rings, so my take is that we are looking at 50 years of growth.

Gum tree?

Yes indeed, it was a giant gum tree that fell over during some heavy flooding after a big storm in Lane Cove National Park in Sydney.
I'd have thought the tree older given its height, but the rings seem to speak for themselves.

I thought to include this. I made this back when I started playing around with Cibachrome/Ilfochrome. I found this image in an old storage box.

Old image: 06/1993
"Expensive Looking Watch"

I don't remember the name of the store that sold this watch. It was near Smith College in Northampton, MA. I made the shot from outside, right through the store's window

Pentax K1000 with a Vivitar 70-210mm lens set somewhere on medium telephoto and Ektachrome 100 film.
Exposure possibly around f/4 to f5.6, given the depth of field being shallow.
Developed in my kitchen using Kodak's E6 3 bath kit bought at a local camera shop downtown called "The Camera Shop" that went out of business a very long time ago.
Ilfochrome classic paper exposed in my living room closet for about 1 minute using a Beseler Cadet II enlarger with 50mm lens that I bought as a kit at Iris Photo, another place long gone.
Print processed in a Cibachrome Mark II color processing drum. I also have the 11X14 extender piece.

The Ilfochrome paper and P30P chemistry I bought from a local color lab called Primary Color in town. Yet another good place long gone. Gary the owner would sell me some of his stock of Cibachrome/Ilfochrome materials.

"Days of Our Lives"

Pentax K1000 with 50mm f/2 lens
Exposure by a lamp, settings unknown.
Ilford Pan F Plus 50 developed in D76
Printed on double weighted fiber based paper developed in Dektol

I had to crop this slim because of distractions

Oooh What About Bob, that is good. I looked around our place for something and never gave our egg timer a thought. Too late now as it's May the first here.

And we have a winner!

Sorry for the delay in announcing this, I was crazy busy all day yesterday.

Many thanks to everyone who participated. Lots of excellent images, and good fun to look at all of them. Kino, it's now your turn to decide the topic for this month's MSA!

Thanks, TheFlyingCamera! I really didn't expect it; lots of good entries!

I will ponder this for a bit and then post the new MSA so people can start submitting ASAP.

Well done Kino.
Perhaps something with a "cinematic" theme?
😄
