I loved the contrast between the shutter sound and the winding sound of the Koni-Omega that I had for a while.
"snick" vs. "pump shotgun".

Probably the oddest shutter sound I've heard is from my Polaroid Image 1200. Unlike the SX-70, if you keep the shutter release depressed, the film won't eject until you release the release (very useful for being discreet and fortuitous if you don't want to eject Impossible film in bright sunlight). Anyway, just pressing and holding the release makes a sound like a one-inch steel ball falling into an empty wooden dresser drawer -- at least that's what it conjures up for me.
Being discreet with such sound....?
Nikonos V
Similar to a Leica, but more "dampened" probably due to the solid brick-like mass of the camera. What does that sound like? Surf breaking?
I like the Bronica EC TL, a pleasant mechanical sound, much like the Hasselblad 500c, but a little longer and more sophisticated.
