Thanks to Marc for arranging today's rustication event.

Nice to put some faces to names and sobriquets!!

Hope to see some of the shots posted here soon, and to see you again at the next event.

Lachlan.

What a huge crowd!!! I wish I'd made my group photo before we all dispersed into the bush... next time.

I've processed all my 5x4" sheets, and will scan a few later if they're dry and I'm still awake.

Great to meet everyone, and what a variety of amazing analogue equipment!

Marc!

Glad to hear it went well. And sorry I couldn't make it. I WILL make the next one. Looking forward to seeing everyone's shots.

Never been to Toorongo Falls, now I've been and seen what a great spot it is. It was nice to meet the APUG crew, thanks to Marc for getting it going and Lachlan for getting me there.

I echo Marc's comments: it was an enormously perfect day with perfect weather — the first of my many visits there when everything has come together.

Excellent subject matter (the Toorongo really turned it on with water flow, perhaps too much at Amphitheatre Falls) and a most interesting assortment of cameras from Hassies to home-mades and all the usual classy classics. I noticed many disappeared/went home long before the entire Toorongo Falls circuit was completed, which had many splendid riverside, rock and cascade opportunities. A sizeable group wrapped up with a post-mortem at Noojee's hidden gem, The Old Tool Shed (very highly recommended) then all home, fed and in bed by 9.15pm! Phew—!

I've got close-up pics of a Hassy I was trying to flog but its wily owner was too attentive. Drrrrrat—!

Thanks to SMBooth for the long drive from Melbourne for Akif and myself (the Professor got himself extremely filthy falling about river and rock!).

Sincere apologies for the no show. I had a family "do" to attend out in Maryborough over the weekend and forgot to drop a quick note on Friday night.
Sounds like it was a glorious event. Can't wait to see the images:smile:
(sounds like a new image thread is in order - if one for vic apug member meet ups doesn't exist?)

It was a very enjoyable day; perfect location and weather, great company, and fabulous gear. Catching up with old Melbourne APUGers and meeting some of the new faces was lots of fun. Pity, I missed the other Technika. Now have to get those Velvias developed.

That's what I wondered Kevin, as I saw it being worked in two variations and wondered if it was just the angle of set up or if it was a Flexbody. Didn't think to ask: too busy plotting to run off with the darling, LOL!!

Long way to go to only take one shot, but it was good to meet y'all!

(Can't believe how bad images look reduced down to fit here… This looks so flat and drab posted here. The tonal range has been compressed significantly.)

^ One shot!? Just one...? Sacré bleu!

Ya, 'tis a long way for us Geelong snappers to go, and for me it was 2 x 35mm RVP100F (lemme see, that's 72...) and 3 x RVP 50 in 120 (that equal 30 + 72 = ... let me count... hmmm, 102... But only 5 will make it to frame-up and display stage — there aint the room in this tiny house for more on the walls... I've got my work cut out scanning and pixel-peeping ready for printing for months yet...

Marc! There's a fair number of APUG members missing from your group shot. I'm not in it. Maybe I wandered off yonder and didn't hear you...

Well, we could also have had a groupie if we had agreed to return to the cars at a set time. As things transpired, 2/3 of the people had left, seemingly having seen nothing of the entire Toorongo Falls circuit, leaving about 6 people to retreat to The Old Tool Shed. It was strange.

Really nice shot, Shane! As Gary wrote, spot on metering.

Sorry, too, that we didn't have a decent chat about all things wide. I spent a lot of the morning walking and talking to Colin. We discussed a ton of things about LF, given he's new to this capper.

Let's try to get another catch up soon, with perhaps a more formal schedule afterward?

I dunno Lachlan, the webified version looks fine so can only imagine what the print looks like. SMbooth's 617 image looks fine as well, I really need to try busting out some Velvia for a change.

Next time I'm in Melb visiting the in laws, I'm bringing my G617 and leaving the Xpan behind. Would love to use it if I make it back to KI as well.

Hopefully I can time it with a Melb get together !
