Well, lo and behold, I got the pics back - and they ain't half bad, if I do say so myself!

Most shots were at 1/500 so shake doesn't seem to have been a problem after all. And I have to admit, for all the grief, the CZ lens is amazing.

Would love to post some pics but first I have to swap out the scanners and get the 9000D up and running.

Oh, BTW, I shot the pics with Konica 400 (in 220) that I'd picked up on eBay. It is (was) a very nice color film - good reds espescially. Too bad it's been discontinued!

Hand held? I didn't know the 500c would come off the tripod?

Hand held for me is now a Koni Omega, MUCH easier than the Hassy hand hold IMO. I only have the one lens, so the Koni is quick and in addition it's easy to focus.

Mirror slap, isn't that what the Hassy uses to knock the dust off the rear of the lens. You know, step one, pre-release to knock any dust off the rear of the lens. Step two trip the shutter after the dust has settled.

Hassy gets tripod field work only.

The real amazing thing is the fact I can own both cameras for less than I paid for a F and F-36 motor drive years ago.
