Material options for roll film holder mounting plate?

hey,

I just bought a Toyo 120 sliding roll film back and want to fit it to my horseman 4x5 field camera. I measured out the plate has to be 6mm thick and aluminium in that thickness is hard to find cheap here.

What other matierals would be ok to use?

Baltic Birch plywood, 1/4 inch thick (6mm), usually available in hobby and craft stores.
It is dimensionally stable and makes good lens boards.

Great! Will it be stable enough to support the sliding back without warping? I have the type with 6x9 ground glass, hood and back.

It should as that is what dimensionally stable means. 6x6 inch lens boards made from this plywood do not warp.
Only Baltic Birch not other types.

PVC panels used for displays, etc. Also known under the name Forex for mounting photos. Less dense than solid PVC, but still quite rigid. Contact a locall company that makes panels for advertising, displays, conference booths, etc.

Dibond (Alu/PVC laminate) is even more rigid, but (AFAIK) exists only in 2mm and 3mm thickness.

"Perspex" "Acrylic" "Plexiglas" are trade names for PMMA material that is a common rigid plastic material available in 6mm thickness and in many colors. It is used to make display signs for retail shops and is inexpensive. It can be cut with a saw, filed, drilled and threaded and bonded with adhesive.
