I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of Marc Akemann. He was always a positive force here on APUG and Photrio, was active in the Photostock gatherings, and from his facebook posts, he remained positive about his struggle with cancer until the end.

I just noticed it on facebook, it is terribly sad. I'm literally losing count of how many great people I know have been taken by cancer. Thoughts with his family and those here closest to him.

RIP, Marc. I don't remember if I met him in person at the one Photostock I've managed to get to, but I think I did. He seemed like just a great guy - always very positive on Facebook. F^#* cancer!

Marc was a most wonderful human being. As I wrote elsewhere, behind a camera, he was meticulous and patient. (and seemingly impervious to the cold) By your side, he was generous and kind. Marc was a fixture at Bill Schwab's annual Photostock event. We took a few photo excursions together over the years, during which I learned much from his dedication to his craft. I feel blessed to count him as a friend.

I miss you, brother.
