Just curious - what happens when the bride wants an off exposure? Or do you only show the "on" exposures?

That would stress me out a bit, I think, cutting my deliverable frames by 2/3 (but I never did portraits or weddings, just fashion print where you wanted as much deliverable as possible). Never heard of bracketing people shots is all.

Brides looked at the record of their wedding formal shots & informal most only anticipated formal indeed in the 60s colour was an innovation.

Shooting weddings was stressful, especially when the lighting was variable.

But 1/3 of a stop was just tolerable unless you were out when you would lose both. There was always the risk of closed eyelids.

You are very exacting!

But were you able to do this on the RB? I ask because the lenses have half-stop aperture clicks, and the shutter can not be set in-between stops, as far as i know.

Confirmed the C lenses I have are 1/2 stop clicks but it is perfectly possible to set them between clicks. The Weston meter is calibrated at 1/3 stops.

Yep, all of my RB glass can be set between clicks. You can also disassemble the lens to the point where you can remove the tiny metal ball that makes the "clicks" (in fact, it's damn easy to lose in a tear-down!). I don't like a clickless-lens, way to easy to bump the aperture waaaay out of whack. Cinema lenses are clickless though, and folks get used to it I suppose.

on the discs it tells you the aperture that the lens is actually getting when the lens is set at f4 so you can work out the exposure that way.
