Mamiya C220 Viewing Screen

I have a Mamiya C220. On the viewing screen/groundglass, there are two marks etched in the glass. I'm wondering what they are for. Some sort of makeshift parallax correction?

They are parallax adjustment marks.

They are discussed on page 16 of the camera's manual.
