Mamiya 6X8 back on older RB67

Quick question - I have a Mamiya RB67 with a 6X7 wind type film back.

I see there is a 6X8 motorized back, but it is listed for the RB67 Pro SD model.

Will this back fit on a non Pro SD model like mine? If not, is there a certain adapter that is needed?

I know this is not what you would want to hear, but 6x7 is big enough, why go 6x8? You will gain only 0.7cm at the side with this setup (see the link).

Seeing what is involved, it may not be worth all the extra parts that are needed.

6x8 solves the dreaded "where do I put the 10th negative" dilemna.

It works perfectly with the 12x16 paper format which I really like (but have trouble obtaining).

And is an exact scale up from 6x4.5.

I thought I also read where the 6x8 was only totally effective in Vertical or Portraiture mode and not Horizontal or Landscape mode. Basically stated you only gain the longer side with the back in up & down position and not sideways position......

I have one, it's 56x76mm, normal is 56x68mm - so you do the math! You need the correct revolving adaptor (marked 6x8) - late model Pro S might already have if yo're lucky. Also the baffle plate for the camera body. It's DIY fitting if you can find one - or you may have to 'open up' your's with a file. Getting the spools in is fiddly compared with the manual wind backs.
