Bob Shanebrook has done it again and even better. Yes, his book “Making Kodak Film” has been expanded from nearly 100 pages to over 450 pages with an accompanying increase in illustration of coating structures and equipment in a second edition. This book comes with a beautiful hard cover to protect this massive volume of information.
The information it contains is a masterful summary of the current status of film manufacture at Eastman Kodak, showing how film is made and how their superb quality is maintained.
I read a pre-release copy from cover to cover and was amazed at how much I didn’t know or that I had forgotten, about what went on behind the scenes of R&D and production.
For APUG members or any analog photography enthusiast, this is a must book. I’ll just bet Fuji and Ilford will be among the first purchasers.
In my opinion, Bob is the best and only person to write such a book.
Buy a copy. It is worth it at almost any price.
It is finally ready and you can get it now at www.makingKODAKfilm.com
