Bob Shanebrook has done it again and even better. Yes, his book “Making Kodak Film” has been expanded from nearly 100 pages to over 450 pages with an accompanying increase in illustration of coating structures and equipment in a second edition. This book comes with a beautiful hard cover to protect this massive volume of information.

The information it contains is a masterful summary of the current status of film manufacture at Eastman Kodak, showing how film is made and how their superb quality is maintained.

I read a pre-release copy from cover to cover and was amazed at how much I didn’t know or that I had forgotten, about what went on behind the scenes of R&D and production.

For APUG members or any analog photography enthusiast, this is a must book. I’ll just bet Fuji and Ilford will be among the first purchasers.

In my opinion, Bob is the best and only person to write such a book.

Buy a copy. It is worth it at almost any price.

It is finally ready and you can get it now at www.makingKODAKfilm.com

Lucky you are! It seems that this second edition adds more Historical issues.

I'm sure it is worth reading for every film enthusiast and Photography lover (specially of Kodak), but without new mysteries for the latter you've mentioned.

And in my opinion, I doubt that

Thank for sharing anyway!

getting excited, the tracking number indicates my copy has gone from Rochester all the way to New Jersey. (which seems to be a strange way for it to cross Lake Ontario but what do I know)

And it is Here! Must be te real thing, the padding in the package was made up of torn pages from "The Democrat and Chronicle".

My thanks to all those that have shown interest in the book. It is very gratifying.

thank you.

I received my copy a few days ago, and I'm truly impressed. Very well layed out, packed with tonnes of fascinating info and beautiful photos. The print quality is very nice. Thanks so much Bob for all the time you put into this book, I am very grateful. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence to pick up a copy -- it's truly an invaluable resource.

The photo on the back cover was a pleasant and elegant surprise.

Excellent book.

Got my copy on Tuesday. Awesome and well worth the price. Great job, Bob!

Yeah, it would make a great poster I think.

fun part is trying to pick out the packages that one has used over the years. and figuring the ones left out, Like IMAGECAPTURE and DATACAPTURE microfilm, Kodalith, B&W paper....

I would buy at least two such posters.
