FYI, I did manage to find a dark slide in the US for $25. Not OEM, but close enough. Though I did think about getting a 220 back, because I would actually use it as intended lol. Decided not to though.

And by the way, I’m not so much worried about the shutter interlock, that prevents exposure with the darkslide on, I’ve gotten into the habit of just locking the shutter between shits. I just want to be able to take off the back easily without having to manually override the interlock each time, as that could lead to… very bad habits.

"I’ve gotten into the habit of just locking the shutter between shits." 🤢 Did you mean to bring up your personal hygiene here?

Oh god… that was a typo to end all typos…

Well, it's better than locking it DURING one...

Will this replacement handle all the interlocks?

I can see from the photo that it doesn't have the safety notch, and it doesn't appear to have the actuator tabs for the interlock that prevents firing the body/shutter when the dark slide is in (present in ProS and later bodies and backs). The tabs might be possible to add, and the notch is easy enough to cut (with a Dremel, as suggested above for fabricating your own).

wouldn’t buy this, as it doesn’t have the tabs that go into the camera and allow the back to be removed. You will have to override the mechanism preventing removal of the back without a darkslide, and I can see that leading to really bad habbits.

So I never thought I would see the day when a darkslide would cost $70. I remember parting out Bronica backs and just saving darkslides I wonder if anyone has 220 backs??
I have RZ67 II, has a place for the slides. Wow

Think that's expensive? Try buying an original hood for a Leica 28mm Hector.

If that's the case, I think I'm going to return it.

I have no interlocks at all when using my Graflex 22, 23, RH10, etc. roll backs on my RB67 (or RB67 backs on my Century Graphic, for that matter). Good habits will still prevent problems.

I wonder what the catalogue price was for a replacement dark slide for an RB67 Pro-SD back when it was a current catalogue item?

OP have you looked in that last place that you would look for it? I often find missing and lost things in the last place that I would look. I hope that this is helpful.

Aha, an answerable question! I have a pdf of the B&H Pro Photo Sourcebook from 1998 - actually, if you search for this, you may still be able to download it from their site. A replacement RB67 darkslide cost just $14 in 1998 USD - less than I was expecting. But to put it in perspective, a complete 120 or 220 back cost $559 new, and the 70mm back was an astounding $1292. Inflation is about a factor of 1.9 since then, so if a 120 back feels a bit pricey at $100-150 now, it's still 10-15% of the original cost.

Where is my time machine when I need it!

Firm confirmation that the RB67 is still a bargain (I got two notifications yesterday for bodies -- one Pro and one ProS -- with 65 mm lenses on them for under $500). If it's too heavy for you, handle it more and you'll get stronger.
