Lo and Behold: Turns out Black Salt Makes a Terrific Toner

Interesting old thread. It's the sulphur in black salt doing it. I simply use reasonably fresh inexpensive metal worker's liver of sulphur in a substitute formula for Kodak brown toner. It needs to be fully pulverized, and filtered after dissolving, for use.
