What does the tubing do on this board? Shutter.

Works the aperture setting manually, in conjunction with the Norma Automatic Shutter, to control the shutter time.

This 300m Apo Ronar Board is direct-operating. They also made spring acting auto aperture models. Basically they offered most lenses in both ways.

With this you can set the aperture while behind the camera. It was a big deal at the time and very fast and sure to operate. Speeds up operation.

Yes. Google Norma Mechanical Shutter, very useful to have. Then you can use any lens in a barrel
