Holy Chicken!

The little Olympus arrived today. Thanks to Raphael packaging it had a save trip from France to Germany.

OK, now it's mine ... for the next couple of days. :wink:

It arrived just in time before I leave to visit my parents, so I will be able to get a photograph from the area I was born and one of the area I live now. Only the weather is no good timing, but so we get a chance to check if the camera is waterproof. Who is going to develop the film? Just take a note that it is already pre-soaked :whistling:

Wow, looks tasty, and much less common than the classical "Coq au vin (rouge)", which is rather prepared with red wine, and sometime appropriate for accomodate an ederly tough volatile, btw :smile:

I find a baseball bat is good for tenderizing, with a weak lye solution if necessary. :wink::whistling:

Ya, I have a drinking problem. I can't afford GOOD scotch. Lagavulin is about $80 a bottle.

Once you have Lagavulin, you never go back.

I just think of blends as a different drink. All is good.
 
Have you certain Irish chick in mind ?

I'm not a rich man. If I could, I'd be tipplin' a bit o' the 10-yeahr-old aqua vitae daehrn' the week, the 16-yeahr-old on the Sundays, and the 21-yeahr-old ev'ry day of a saint!

Due to the newly screwed-up state of alcohol sales here in WA State, our vast selection of fine whiskies has dwindled down to an assortment of Canadian blends. I'm staring at a pair of bottles of blended Canadian whisky right now: Crown Royal (gag!) and Pendleton, which actually ain't bad. Last week I choked down a bottle of Seagram's 7 Crown, and while I was able to finish it, I won't be going down that rutted and potholed road again. My favorite, Cragganmore, shot up in price from $45 to over $80 when we misteakenly passed the Costco-sponsored liquor privatization law last year. Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Talisker, all gone beyond my means. Balvenie Portwood (another favorite) isn't even available around here anymore.

Uninformed voters suck. So does Crown Royal.
 
Hmmmmm... Some things from Ireland are really HOT but whiskey isn't one of them... :pouty:

The chickens in the shot I posted are Barred Rock and what's usually referred to as easter egger chickens. They produce blue and green colored eggs, whereas the Barred Rock chickens produce the usual brown eggs.

Irish and Bourbon = good.

Scotch = good for cleaning paint brushes in.

Crown Royal and Seagrams 7 are rye whiskey's, not to be confused with single malt Scotch or Irish whisky. It is meant to be drunk with lots of ice and some coke, rarely straight up. Hopefully it was at least cheap :smile:
