Okay, I've scrolled through the first 10 or so pages of this thread, and as best as I can tell, the "proposed" list on page 2 of the thread remains in effect.

That tells me that John_Nikon_F is next on the list.

I'll PM him for address confirmation.

Shall I ask Ralph Javins to help again? :whistling:

Hand deliver it to him.

It was hand delivered to Kenmore Camera, where I received it. Will use it this weekend, then pass it on. IIRC, it goes to Japan to the loose moose, then back to the Seattle area for the gassy one's shooting episode, right? Or something like that... The preliminary list reminds me of a tracking report for an item I received via USPS Parcel Post. Didn't go straight from California to Washington, but all over the country instead.

Oh -- it's too bad it didn't make it a little faster, it would have come with me to Thailand and Laos! I'm off on Monday until mid-March, so you may want to either a) hold onto it until I get back, b) send it along to the next person (or two) who would then be responsible for sending it to me in Japan or c) do a crazy chicken dance that will be posted on APUG for all of us to see.

As John said, I handed the camera off to him yesterday when we met at Kenmore Camera.

Now I get to sit back and marvel as the rest of the thread progresses.

Yell if anyone needs any chicken consumed.

Matt:

Let me know when you're ready to ship the camera out. If Moose is going to be away until March, we can get back to her after a couple of more people. Let's send the camera around California and we'll get it to Moose after Tim. Here are the next three:

edibot42 Half Moon Bay, CA
technowizard Los Gatos, CA
k_jupiter San Jose, CA

If you do not hear from edibot42 after you send out a PM, let me know.

Regards,

Shawn

Shawn:

Did you intend to address this to John?

He has the camera now - I've finished my shot.

That sounded like a threat.

Don't mess with Shawn.

What is with the wimmin in this group?

One jaunts all around the far east, the other takes off for her villa in Spain for months at a time... or rides the NY subway for lunch...

None, you notice, come visit me.

Ok so there may have been a little visit to a certain Jewish NYC deli but it was for the brisket and gravy... not the Pastrami on rye!
But there was certainly never a villa in Spain!!!

And I haven't noticed you coming over to visit any of us either!

Ummmmm.... Moose is not a "DUDE".

tim in san jose

Well obviously her name is in her signature, and a few posters before have called her by her name. Dont think there is anything wrong by saying hey dude or the like to males or females. Dudette or gal kinda sounds weird truthfully.

Dude-
As a native of Southern California (where the modern usage of "dude" originated), and having used it frequently since the inception of that modern usage (with the proper intonation, inflection and emphasis, and within the proper context), I can state without reservation that "dude" is not proper if applied to females. While some have used the term "dudette", that usage has never been widespread. The proper feminine counter to the masculine "dude" is "chick".

That's correct- the classic, simple, "chick". As in "dudes 'n' chicks".
"Dude, you gotta go to my party- gonna be lots of chicks there, man!"
"He's a cool dude."
"She's a cool chick."

An alternate which has found broad acceptance in some contexts is "babe".
"Dude- we need to find some babes to go to the beach with us."

So sayeth the lxdude. Santa Monica born, SoCal raised.

There were a couple of women lived in the house across from me for several years. One was definitely a 'dude'. I never understood why.

Dear Dudettes and Dudes,

Don't want to be too serious here, but is someone have any news from Shawn and the Stylus ?
Sile ?

That's the problem with floggings. What if he likes it? You can get tennis elbow that way.

"Don't do unto others what you want others do unto you ; they haven't necessary the same tastes !"

Cheers,

Raphael
