In my house they observe it from a platter, surrounded by roasted potatoes and mushrooms.

Marc, that is a truly bizarre ornament. Are you sure it isn't... uh... that it doesn't...

Oh hell. Does it take batteries?

Fred...no, it does not take batteries. It's like, you know, a rubber chicken but made from glass, like the old fashioned Christmas ornaments. I wish I had a more humorous and less boring reply but I couldn't think of anything in relation to the direction you were going with it...which I thought was pretty funny. Soooo, yeah...

rcam72: "Do pagan chickens observe the holidays?" I don't know if pagan chickens observe the holidays but I can tell you that my pagan chicken ornament has been observed, with many humorous reactions. When people first see it their heads tilt sideways with a puzzled look on their face and then they burst into laughter or at least a chuckle.

Shawn: "And I bet it lights up and crows at just the right moment, too." Please see my reply to Fred's comment.

Happy New Year to all.
I've had the nose to the grind, without much time online. I look forward to that changing in the coming weeks as some of the old workload transitions to someone else and my role at work changes for the better.

Happy New Year, belated. Or early, depending on your choice of calendar.

Leica Mini Zoom should be in Canadia in aboot 3-5 days eh.

I am concerned about the Stylus. It seems Sile was in NY when the camera should have arrived in Ireland. Just another thing I managed to screw up!

You screwed up nothing Shawn! The Irish mail system is really atrociously slow at Christmas and the New Year. However they're usually pretty good at not losing things.. so I still live in hope.

Was there a tracking number on it and/or a return address? Let's not panic just yet!

Where do the pictures from all these traveling cameras get posted?

In the last round we posted them as a comment in the actual thread Eric..
Previously when we post them in the Gallery they all come up under the same member's name, so it can be a bit confusing and a little spam'y. Not sure it was any less confusing the way we did it, to be honest, but at least everyone could claim their photo's by replying to the comment that had their photo in it!

It was a bit confusing. But we tried!

Here's a suggestion...
Start a private Flickr group
Post the pics there
or see if Sean will set us up an independent gallery.

I liked how you did it last time, post them in the thread! Led to a more chatty environment.

I made the Flickr suggestion last time but I think it was felt it was better to keep the photos here at Apug. I have to admit I still think it's a good idea though Fred....

The main problem with the independent gallery is that the name on the shots is the name of the "poster".. I know Tim was given permission to upload more than 3 pics at a time last time, but they all went up with his name on them, so it can be a little confusing!

Like we ever do something that's straight forward in this group...........

In the post office. They are most wanted, these pictures, they are.

Yes, well, you thought my last idea was a good one, but I still have part of that Speedo wedged where it won't come loose. :pinch:

Another brilliant idea... the hydraulic wedgie remover. I'm applying for a patent as we speak.

There already is a special gallery in the "gallery" for the traveling camera. I took some pics with one a year or so ago and have never seen the rest of the images taken with the camera. I suppose it could have disappeared I suppose.

Eric,

Are you referring to one of the traveling cameras of the last few rounds? At least for Round 8, all of the pictures were published on the site (or at least I think they were).

Regards,

Shawn

Sorry Eric,

I put Camera 6 in the gallery. Cameras 7a and 7b were lost. Cameras 8a and 8b were posted in the thread for those cameras in this directory.(Let's All Shoot 1 Camera). Not my choice, it was the will of the people.

The Leica has landed safely in Canada:D. After John & I have our way with it, we'll ship it off to the west coast to spend some time with Matt.

The sweet sound of progress? I hear it!

However, if the Stylus doesn't show up in Ireland or back to me soon, we're going to have to improvise. I have another beautiful Olympus ready to go (but not a Stylus). Or we can simply tack on the other addresses to the end of the list and make it just the Leica this round. Let's give it one more week.
