Kidding! Some minor aspect of the M3 I think make most feel the M3 is slightly better at least in build quality of some features. But overall I think either are contenders in the best 35mm RF category otherwise it's horses for courses....

It's the only 35mm camera I've ever owned that broke down on me and stopped working within two years of a full service.

Yes and SLR are real cameras that let one use polarizers. If you are looking through the middle of a toilet roll, you may want to climb out of the latrine first. Oh, and please wipe you feet.
The Leica M2 cannot be used with telephotos that are longer than 135mm which eliminates many opportunities in sports, nature and wildlife photography. How can a camera be great when its design is inherently limited?
Yes, if you don't count the M3. Actually I consider them equal. Each has features that I like. Of course it might be because I own one of each and I am biased......Regards

By definition mine is always better!
I have an old black Nikkormat FTn. Paid $27 for it, shipped, with an H 50 2 lens. It's the best camera I've ever owned, and I've pretty much owned 'em all. Couldn't tell you why it's so good. It just goes about it's job so effortlessly and delivers stunning images.
