I've moved this to the Large Format sub-forum because - well just because :D
And I combined it with the duplicate thread that was already here.

Does anyone know what's going on with the largeformatphotography.info site? I get security alerts from both FireFox and Chrome, and neither browser will let me access the webpage.
See post #21, where Oren explains the problem. See Dart’s post with a way to get in using Chrome.

Our computer won't let us into that second level of the "unsafe" zone at all. It's probably due to something amiss security-wise in a linked ad somewhere in the forum, or some detected attempt to breach its own defenses. Life goes on.

In retrospect I shouldn’t have posted the comment. It was intended only to be a silly joke but it was mean. Hopefully if he reads this thread he’ll take my remark for the dumb joke it is.
And having said that I liked your post I want to add that Tin Can is a forum member for whom I have the utmost respect.

On Firefox and alikes you have to delete the forums domain from the list of HSTS pinned domains. The browser knows the site and won't accept any overrides for its certificate.

If you are somewhat secure in dealing with your computer you can go in the menu to Help->Troubleshooting Information and click on 'Open Directory' next to 'Profile Directory'. In the file expolorer find the file 'SiteSecurityServiceState.txt', open it in a text editor (not Word or the like) after *first* exiting Firefox and use the text search function to find 'largeformatphotography.info'. Delete the whole line and save. Start Firefox again and you can go the usual way to allow an exception.

I'm using MacOS Monterey 12.1 ./Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Profiles/8vcew77o.default-1541349960581/SiteSecurityServiceState.txt . I use vi. Thanks for the heads up.
The command I used was "find . | grep SiteSecurityServiceState.txt" . This was from ~ . Hope this helps.

I vaguely remember that this is an annual event. Am I correct?

Doesn't work w/ Brave or Chrome on my laptop. On Brave, I get one of those warnings you get on cell phones sometimes, but nothing will let me override it to get to the site. I don't even shoot LF, but google led me there while trying to understand why Foma 200 apparently looks so good when others shoot it in 120 but looks like crap when I try it at 35mm.

Can someone explain what's going on? Yes I remember this happened before. I use a Samsung tablet most of the time, I can't get on lfpf.

Tin Can is probably processing XRay film with his OG gaseous burst set up and is unaware. Mr. Can will get this fixed, I hope:pouty:.

The error I got on Firefox traced down to the certificate expired on December 26th. Unfortunately that is needed to access an HTTPS connection.

Contrary to what I read above, on Firefox 95.0.2 on my Win 10 here, I was able to click on 'Advanced' and get an option to ignore the error. (But I'm not registered with LFF anyway, I was just curious when I tried nosing around.)

The LF forums webserver has enabled a feature called HSTS. HTTP strict transport security. If the browser has encountered this domain once, it will remember that it has HSTS enabled and enforce encryption at all times and will not allow any security overrides.

If you hadn't accessed the forum previously your browser would not have had the above feature enabled, yet, on the domain of LFF. Hence you could override.

Once again this is keeping me out, or I have been banned

Not clear what is going on December 30 2021

We had a discussion on this about a year ago in our Feedback subforum. As our technical guru, Tom Westbrook, pointed out at the time, an SSL certificate would be a recurring cost for us, and as a non-commercial site we are running on donated resources and time and have no regular income stream. I'll add that it would be another item for Tom to deal with. We may get to it at some point, but we cannot promise whether or when.

In any case it is not good practice to use the same password across different websites.

I am unable to reach LFF, largeformatphotography.info. The error message is a security message, something about "this connection is not private". Is this an error on my part, or is it with the site? Can anybody contact them?

Tnx,
