I can confirm from experience that it's rarely the integrated circuits (ICs) in the electronics that render the camera unusable. Often it's the small issues already described here so frequently. In addition, there are cracked plastic gears on the servo motors, which need to be replaced with metal ones. This is also an easily solvable problem. The only real effort lies in getting access to them.
