Portra 800 and ColorPlus 200 are now on Estar base in 135 format. Confirmed by Kodak and by users. I've bought ColorPlus 200 and Portra 800 in the beginning of 2022. Both had Estar base. Same thickness as in 120 (3.94mil).

Now it is possible that they would have done a running change and the data has not caught up. Colour Negative DOES tend to have a silver AHU layer - which would minimize light piping.

So far AHU layers showed not being effective against lightpiping, as all they can do is reducing the internal reflection at one side of the base. But by no means they can prohibit light from entering the base in first instance.

although I am guessing that they can help in keeping at least some of the light being piped from crossing back into the light sensitive layers.

Yes, light being piped then has to overcome that layer which to it acts like a filter.

BUT this is not effective on the piped light, as this is by magnitudes more than what is regularly exposed. Would it be effective none of the lightpiping films, which all have AHU layers would show effect. These films just were not designed for being converted to type 135. Instad they would need a dyed base.

These are the canister variations I've encountered: all acquired through buying empties for bulk loading rather than retail rolls.

E100 wins on style points by a long shot, but I can't help but notice the lack of red in Kodak's branding. Must be an Alaris thing...

I think it saves them money not to have additional red or blue or other colours.
They splurged on the Ektachrome.
This may change if and when supply and other disruptions work themselves out.

Yeah, all but the E100 look like two color printing—black and yellow (assuming the white is the base color). The E100 looks like 4 color—red on the Kodak logo, yellow, blue and black (the word Professional looks black.)

Good lineup - and Kodacolor 200 lives on! Ok so the budget ran to Colorplus boxes a few years ago but not the seemingly easier rebrand of the catridges

I wish I'd kept that Panda canister now, it was pretty cool looking. You wonder if they might not become a collectible?

the really neat ones were the first year of Kodacolor II. the caps were black and yellow zebra stripes so that the Photofinishers would notice and NOT send it to the C-22 Line. I belive K-14 did the same with Rad and yellow caps.

Just what I was thinking. And they actually look really nice. Collectors problem might be that a pristine and unopened pro pack will not show the actual collectible feature. Only the batch # and expiration date on the package as proof of identity.

When I first saw it I was wondering if these blank stell caps will affect the light trap functionality, though. Or is the inside still black?
