Valid point, but according to our local news this involves infighting at the highest levels and something quite different than the article you reference.

I'm really not sure what is going on, but it appears to be different than what you reference.

Sell half and keep half. That way you will lock in some profit on your purchase, and you can keep the remaining half as a speculative play without worrying about losing your original capital.

What a big disaster for Kodak. Today was to be the day of the Kodak Coin IPO. Instead, it's turning into a Kodak rout. Shares are being pounded hard as Kodak has delayed its IPO by several weeks. Interest in shorting Kodak stock is at an all time high. Over 30% of all Kodak shares are being held short, meaning that 30% of those who own Kodak are betting with their money that the company's value will decline in the near future.

This article is very very dark. Kodak management has continued to make one poor decision after another.

It's sad that Kodak has the leadership it does. Crypto is just more baloney. Hopefully THE building and THE people that keep the film alive make it through this. To loose the people, that make the magic of Kodak film happen, would be a tragic loss. These corporate jerks will go down like a dictator, to keep themselves afloat they will burn down everything before they leave. Frightful times Indeed!

That's a brutal comparison Lee. Fujifilm had the same existential crisis but unlike Kodak, had actual leadership with vision on how to get through it. Fujifilm today is a strong, growing company involved in many successful businesses. Today Fujifilm is in the position to buy other companies, even distressed ones like Xerox. Who can imagine Kodak buying anything today?

Ratty, I don't mean to throw shade on Fujifilm. There's no denying that they have done the best they can to adapt to changing times... much better than Kodak. The new arrangement with Xerox illustrates the stresses that all old-tech imaging companies are trying to deal with.

Fuji now has controlling interest in Xerox. I don't know what the plans are, but I would rather have Fuji as an ally than a competitor. The Kodak thing is a mess. Anybody's guess how it all turns out. I will be saying a little prayer that everything works out. We should have never lost Polaroid, that technology is lost forever. It was miraculous. A bit of technology worth a subsidy, or support. The new reality is the fine arts are considered non-essential.

Edit: make that -10% now and still dropping. The shorts are pounding this stock hard today.

I think this may be the best time for Kodak Alaris to swoop in and try to buy the film division, while the corporate higher ups are desperate for money.

Perhaps some have finally come to the realization that Kodak is not receiving the proceeds of the ICO, and this venture is not likely to generate any significant income for Kodak.

There are all kinds of ways corporations can raise cash through commercial paper markets. Apple has almost 80 billion dollars in debt. They raise money all the time taking out loans.

Film is not Kodak Alaris' primary business so its highly unlikely that they are interested in buying and running Building 38.

employees and shareholders are the first to lose when management starts missing boats. worse, dedicated employees tend to buy company stock with their retirement funds.

Just think if you had split your holdings cross town and bought some Xerox.
