I assume the 8,99 quid price is for a single film, right? May I also assume that Precisa CT100 costs the same from them? If so, it would be very competitively priced and obviously tempting.The new Ektachrome is listed in the 2018 Firstcall Photographic catalogue...if that means anything!

About $12.60, but if it's anything like everything else sold here, it will be $9 in the States.

I assume Precisa CT 100 ( I have lots of it ) will be discontinued next. Now I realy understand Fujis decision to go away from E6 in the midt time range ( 2019 ) because Kodak informed Fuji about pricing of own projected films ?
.... I would agree with Fuji - no chance with own sellings if Kodak is back....

The demand to Agfa Precisa becomes more less - the higher pricing every 5 month will not hold up more less demand.
It us just the oposite of a strategy...

Is there any source that Fuji is stopping E6?

There wasn't any source that Kodak stopped all E6 films. When there was a source (from Kodaks anouncement) - it was too late to react. Because last Kodak films increased imediately from pricing.In fact last Kodak E6 prices increased in a massive way 18 month before Kodak was killing E6.
Soon later they where sold out. Last ebay offers priced Kodak E6 films 4 times as high in price. If you allways want an official source you will be allways too late. So you have to know it before you can read it in the press.
If you like Agfa CT 100 Precisa (Fuji Provia) you should buy it as soon as possible in ammounds you'll need within next years. That is the recomandation I can give you.....

I lifted the following from a Facebook post I saw earlier today. It's a letter from Kodak to an independent lab that processes E-6 film. Interesting read:
"I snuck a glimpse of a letter from KODAK while buying film at a local lab here. This is a huge step in the release of EKTACHROME.
"Thank you for agreeing to participate in this E-6 Trade Process test. This is an important step in the KODAK and KODAK ALARIS reintroduction of EKTACHROME film later this year.
Contained in this package is a light-tight metal canister containing four rolls of 35mm film. These are 5 feet in length, the same as a 36-exposure roll of film. They have already been removed from their cartridges.
Please handle these in total darkness as you load them onto your E-6 processing machine. You can identify the emulsion side of the film by the orientation of the notch as seen below.
We ask that you process these four films at your standard normal processing time the same day you receive them.
After processing, please sleeve the films and place them back into the metal can. Then return them to us via the prepaid mailer in this package.
After the data is collected and analyzed from all the participating labs, we will send you a copy of the test results, showing where you lab stands relative to the overall trade average. The lab identifications will be coded so no one would know the identities of the labs in the survey.
As we introduce this new EKTACHROME film we value your help in establishing how the film performs in high quality processing labs such as yours. Thank you!"

Interesting. Two rather obvious comments:
1. "later this year". So what happened to 2018Q1... I guess release is pushed back again.
2. "notches". I didn't know 35mm film had or needed notches to identify the emulsion side. (I also didn't know that the processor machines cared which side was up or down but I admit to having little knowledge of those machines).
3. "metal can". Are metal cans coming back too?

It depends on processor. Some are optimized for just one side of the film.
"Metal cannisters": a bunch of 4 plain rolls (naked) is packed in one metal can. So this is not about the old metal type-135 cannister.
As these rolls are not converted as type 135, they got a custom notch for the lab to recognise the right side

These are test strips sent to the labs to test processing, not a consumer product.
The approach is more professional than the approach of Film Ferrania who is relying on enthusiasts developing film in their kitchens to determine best practices for processing.
Well, when you only have six people working for your company (Ferrania), I guess something has to give.

Yes and no. A approach to involve future customers into a product introduction can strengthen bonds. But it also can backlash if not well-done.
