Where has Fujimstated they will leave the film market?
If Fuji do indeed pull out of E6, can Ektachrome (if it ever gets released) keep the E6 process going by itself ?
Just like the Ferrania thread.
Perhaps not, since Ektachrome is initially only going to be 35mm and Super 8. Fuji supplies E6 materials in all the common formats.
I must admit I was very surprised at Super 8, can there really be that much of a market for movie film? Obviously Kodak thinks so and presumably has done their market research.
Kodak sell Vision 3 and Tri-X in Super 8, perhaps they've noticed an uptick in sales ? Enough to launch a new camera and a new film though ?!
I'm baffled by Super 8 to be honest with the cost for film/dev/scan being quite high (and I'm used to paying £1+ a shot from medium format 6x6 film/dev/scan).

David - in concern of analogue photography and all the equipment and stuff you have a need to use - the past teached all of us to watch what happens
next.
If you are waiting of answers from manufacturers to such issues we have a need to know - they will possible give you the statement - you just have to wait - and then you are informed in a way it is definitivly proofed.
But then it is too late for you - isn't it ?
If I would have to decide at Fuji I would first make all contracts clear. I would first
finalise negotiations that were extremly
difficult. Next should be the right time to inform the press.
It is a bit like to deal with shares. You can't win if you are waiting for official anouncements. You have to know it BEFORE.....
If you need Fuji films - and that is the question of interest of so many of us -
you will be better prepared to buy all the stuff you need soon. Because you'll never see nice pricing with analogue Fuji stuff up from now.
(B&H make the exeption of the rule last month). The pricing from Fuji films will definitivly increase more and more.
At last your beloved films are on a list of next discontinuation.
Is it a good decision to beliefe Fuji today
when Fuji swears you will see your Fuji films in the future. ...and they will hold on films?
They can't ceep that promise.

E6 is useless without same day processing
E6 is useless without same day processing, at leas,in civilized cities. Reason enough to forget chrome.

In my city there was never a same day processing of e6, not even in the late 90s. Guess the world has always been doomed.E6 is useless without same day processing, at leas,in civilized cities. Reason enough to forget chrome.
The only way I ever saw 1 hour, or 3 hour for that matter, E-6 Processing was in my bathroom. [snip]
Call me spoiled! We had quick turnaround for E6 when I lived in Atlanta in the mid and late-80s (E6 Lab and Chestnut Color); I seem to recall 3 hours? Here in Vancouver, The Lab offers same-day service. Not sure if it's 3 hours or "drop off in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon." My habit is usually to drop off one morning and pick it up the next (I no longer shoot professionally, so time is not of the essence).
OK. Have you bought or shot any of the New Ektachrome yet?Can we get back to the topic of this thread?
That’s what I’m doing... until Kodak mails me some samples.Well, I guess that we will just assume that it is vaporware for now.
