This type of delay is no big deal. No reason to get all morose about it. They have made pretty quick progress since the announcement.

...there is no way Kodak goes bankrupt.
It has happened before; it can happen again. It's stock is down 80% this year, it is losing money, the markets have downgraded it, and it doesn't have enough cash to redeem it's preferred stock, which is scheduled to happen next year. It is ripe for another Chapter 11 reorganization, which may be the best way for it to survive.

It's mind boggling that some think that Kodak can't go bankrupt again. However, I think 2019 is the year Kodak has to redeem the preferred stock, not 2018.

Its not a question of can't or even if. If what you both are saying is true then it will go pop unless they can build enough of a cash reserve this year, who would like to bet on that?

I really hope the film division survives in one form or another though because one thing is certain, if they bring this out in 120 I am buying it.

Faberryman it looks like to me as someone has put options on Kodak shares and want to make them to money
before the year comes to its end?
Notice : Kodak would go bankrupt exact to the time nobody assumes it.
Thats the way share dealings will work normaly. So it was in the past in most cases. The danger is allways at the highest point when nobody cares about.
So it is a good point somebody now assumed Kodak may go bankropt the next months. That stands for Kodak and we possible will see the oposite.:D......
Agfa was bankropt to the time everything was ok with this company. From one day to the next they stopped production and Agfa comes to its final end.
What was the reason ? It was just a bad calculation from management. There was a little failure within the figures. So Agfa has to pay some millions at the end of a quarter - but there was no money (somewere around 23.000.000,-
thats not so much to such a big company at all ).
But at the end of that specific month they can't find this money.:cry::cry:...
To me Agfa has to go bankropt due to the market in any case - but possible just a couple of years later.
And what's about Kodak? Has Kodak to go bankropt in any way (due to the market) ? Well - nobody can tell you bandit: !
I think not so - and Kodak's management has obviously learned (I hope ).......

with regards

PS : Pls. don't speculate with put options to Kodak shares because there is a high danger you will lost ALL YOUR MONEY:D:laugh::D:D:cool::laugh::cool:

which format will be available in your opinion?

Thats a question very easy to answer chris77 - in the best (optimistic way) it will work in the opposite direction as we have seen discontinued films (formats) from Kodak (and others).
At first we will have 135 films. (and Super8 possible to the same time - but perhaps a bit later).
The next step is highly in concern of the demand to Kodak Ektachrome.
If everything should go right we will see Ektachrome in 135-36 to some further months.
If it will go perfect you can speculate Kodak first will react on the demand to 120 films.
That's the possible task from Kodak at all.
But if it will work much better that we all may assume Kodak will definitive have thoughts to bring back 4 x 5 inch.
To the time it may happen (but therefore we definitive will need a real boom with relaunched E6) Kodak will bring out a second emulsion on basis of Ektachrome 100. To me Ektachrome 64 would be a good choise - others may prefer a box speed ISO 200/ISO400 film. Both is possible on basis of the new emulsion.
Next step is a 8 x 10 film from both Ektachrome emulsions.
But friends to be realistic I have to state :
A remarcable revival of E6 films - much bigger than Kodaks plans are today - is an urgent need to come just in the near of this szenario. But who knows - perhaps it is the upcoming future. The question is :
What is about other manufacturers in business with E6 ?????
And not before this will hapen (someone ask about 5 x 7 films) we possible will see the next formats.
So 5 x 7 is a little unrealistic but not total
impossible.
The last we would see from Kodak could be 220 films a.s.o.
You just may remember first films discontinued and imagine the oposite direction.

with regards

You are mixing up companies. Agfa did not go bancrupt at all.
(Though years later in the world economic crisis they were even to own saying in a critical phase for some time.)

Bancrupt went instead a firm that they had sold months before. (Their former consumer products department with several plants.) And there even only the production entity not the respective holding firm (that from then on is living on licencesing the AgfaPhoto brand).
Though the preceeding sale looks very strange, as if Agfa wanted to get rid of that department in a cheap way. But, there never was a formal accusation. Though in the end Agfa got caught up by the whole thing nevertheless as by highest court decision they had to come up for pension interests for employees who changed over to that new entity.

But you are right in as far Agfa wanted to get rid of that department obviously not for restructuring, but due to a changing market where these capacities would not be wanted any more. The desinterest by others to buy the assests of that department prooved that.

Not to be cynical (well, a little bit) but was there a cartridge in there and the cartridge had film in it?

No idea. It was not my picture and I doubt the person was allowed to open the packaging. That said there are rumours the 35mm variant is already being sent to some stores in Europe. Have to wait and see.

You have every right to be cynical. Classic scam technique. Not that this is a scam, but the technique is similar...

If they had product to show they would be showing product.

Like everyone else I’ve only seen pictures from CES-2018 display. Normally I have at least one friend their in person but not this year. Their display appears to be puctures of product and packaging only. I would have expected a lot more show-and-tell props than that.

Re: rumors of delivery of product to European stores... I’m not that gullible until someone sees something with their own eyes.

i don't know if they can go bankrupt again, they have started a mining operation ..
they have converted all of their $$ into kodak crypto currency ( everything, pensions, payroll &c )
and each 20$ of kodak crypto currency is worth a voucher for 1 kodachrome processing.
their preferred stock will also be worth kodak crypto currency ..

I saw this and immediately thought of those amazing eBay listings for boxes of photographic paper, where someone has kindly taken the contents out of the box to show it in the photos...:whistling:

I know what you mean... but for marketing purposes I’d expect to see the cassette and see some real developed film. Their marketing department budget can’t be so slim that this is a financial burden!
