I wonder if you'll have the issue again. Could be just a hiccup in respooling. I just had a roll respooled for a Chevron give me a weird feel in sealing it up at the end; maybe I'll have the same type of issue.
Nice looking Medalist shots. I know I'd fail a true blind science test to identify which lens did which shot, but I do like how that Ektar renders.
Had time to test the camera again, this time with Kodak Tri-X re-spooled in exactly the same manner. No trace of out of focus regions, exactly as I would expect. So either, I'm too variable in my re-spooling efforts, or there is something dimensionally different about the Kentmere 200 roll I used that makes it more susceptible to issues when re-spooling like a thinner film base or difference in backing paper.
I was trying to find out what bases of the problematic films mentioned do have, but i couldn`t find specs for all the films producing problems.
I still think it is about the teethed roller, maybe a thinner/more flexible base does produce the problem. Maybe you could hand-check the problematic films for flexibility in comparison to the unproblematic films.
